For the high scores (from both sides), the smaller ground may have played a part. Not sure if that redeems our bowling failures. Also, batting needs a lot more work. Masri (and Dhiman) doesn't score a 50 everyday, it could have easily been 240 all out for us.

Some good points from posters here.
1) No matter who is coaching some of our batsmen still the same 30+ innings and then back to the pavilion.
2) Bolwing is really concern and still no news for bowling coach (there was some news actually about SL coach, what happened to him, if he is already working what he is working with). BCB needs to immediately get world class bowling coach!!!
Overall a win is good, but everything will be proved when the real match will start with Aus.

it was all because of him and dhiman that bangladesh managed to win in the end.. i hope the bowling in the real matches will be better..

despite what everyone is saying, i am still hopeful for Mehrab jr. because i don't think we have anyone better atm. (at least his strike rate improved from first practice match )
Mahmudullah's spin will be useless when we have Shakib, Razzak and part-timer Alok to fill 15-25 overs and the Pacers doing the rest. but it doesn't really hurt to Try his batting abilities.
i want to give Mehrab Jr. some more confidence by keep trying him see if he get a solid 50 even with a strike rate of 80.00 i will be happy!
what i really like about this match is that even though we needed a blistering lower order partnership to solidify things, everyone got starts and that's a good positive it minimizes your chances of getting allout below 150
Shahadat may have picked up 3 wickets but i am still worried about his strike rate...
i like this approach: first match 330, next match 284 and our target should be if AIS bats first in next match restrict them below 260, if we bat first then 290+ should be our target.
i hope Mashrafee and Dhiman carry the momentum to the next level in the next couple of weeks or so. Dhiman batting up the order(opening) may be a blessing in disguise for Bangladesh

He was a spinner and could be a good spinner coach. We need fast bowling coach, is he also a specialist fast bowling coach. I know it does not matter, but for BD bowlers/players we need special coaches to teach them how to land a ball in the right places.

Why are we so excited about a narrow win against toddler team? Just check their ages? They are just recent graduates of the U-19 team!

Yeap totally agree, these players are just recent U19 grad. Hopefully our batsmen are not thinking they will get these type of bowlers in few days. Most probably team rule and expectations will be revisited and scoring 180 to 200 will be satisfying for them (coach/selectors). OUr bowlers should be shameful that against this team they are almost giving away 270+ runs... what they will do against the mighty Aussie!!!!

Because we are a bunch of perves. And toddlers excite us.
But how many excited posters are you finding here ? Everyone is critical of Shahadat. And we sure are concerned w/ why Raqib and Saqib keep on scoring 20 ish.
Besides, Shahadat probably is just trying to push the peddle here..not worrying for the fact that the car may veer off.
For the other batsmen...let them picnic a bit. History has shown that when our players are not so uptight, they end up doing better.
Hopefully the last game is against a better team, and we end with a high note.

about all of our players are "recent" graduates of the under-19 team too... excluding Mortaza, Ashraful, Razzak and Kapali.

The presence of Zunaed at the top of the order will hopefully give some strength to our top order. Shakib seems to be struggling to get into the groove after his prolonged absence from the team.At the moment I see Raqibul as the mainstay of our batting. Its imperative that he anchors the innnings everytime he gets to the crease.
The third pacer slot is also a point of contention. From the performances in England I suspect that Dollar would be the better choice ahead of Nazmul. But we are still lacking any bowlers who can pose any serious threats to a top class batting line up.

You have to give the team a bit time and space to get back into the international level. Dont blame Shahadat or the bowlers that much,,, it takes time to get adjusted to a different pitch from the low and dull pitch in Bangladesh. And Shahadat was never a good one dayer to begin with.. He bowls to get wickets not to contain runs like Mashrafee..All in all,, these are suppose to be practice matches and should be treated as such...There are no reason to get excited or dissaponted heavily based on couple of matches.
But those who think that this Australian team is bunch of kids should get the math right... our standard of cricket is below par of any Test nations... We have bunch of 18 year olds playing in our national team and still have serious technical faults.. Do you think that our 18 year olds are better than their 21 year olds?

Good win. I wonder how many more wins we'll see in this tour. Congrats to Mash and Dhiman for scoring 50s. Dhiman needs to make some runs in ODIs to justify his selection.

Hopefully this will boost up the morale a bit, and the top order got saved today. They need to take this win and focus so this sort of things stop repeating again and again

its not just the amount of runs, but how they're scored also as sohel bhai says.
for example, dhiman might only score 20 runs, but it could still be a crucial innings in many circumstances. he's a big hitter, and free scorer...more so than rahim, who for his technical faults is still a very orthodox batsman and technically superior to almost all our batters if not all of them.
rahim didn't do half bad in the asia cup...21 average at a SR of 71...of course the average needs to be higher in the mid to late 20s, but the SR wasn't too shabby at all.

For one thing,, it was a treat to find Dhiman scoring winning runs. I hope that he does well this series. That will help the team and may push Mushfique to become a batsman only. Dhiman has the right talent to be the "Real" wicketkeeper-batsman the team needs.

that was a good victory.... good to see our batsmen getting some of their confidence back....
I hope they are not considering this as their only success in this tour down there.
TI & Junayed should open in the next practice match....

very much agree with al-furqaan and dhakablues bhai!
sometimes i think, man, we indeed are very lucky to have both mushfique and dhiman early on as the team slowly matures and they both are also so young, Inshallah, both have long and brave career journey ahead of them.

Welcome aboard, Green Tea (is it bhai or apa?)!
Mash could still turn into an allrounder of substance if he only takes himself seriously. Lately -and totally uncharectaristically- he has turned into a chicken everytime a fast bowler runs towards him and just legs it towards the square leg umpire. I wonder why this sort of cowardice from an otherwise Lion-hearted Mashrafe of past? Perhaps, all those serious injuries and responsibilities of married life have dented his "no fear" approach. Perhaps, he is worried about his future and not focusing in the presence.
He should sip some green tea and put his right thinking cap/helmet on before he goes out to bat :-)

i realy think that Mash got the ability to score but in most odis he has the tendancy to come to the crease & start hitting. He should change his mind set & play more like an alrounder.
Dhiman in the mean time has to do more in the odis so that he can remain the wk for long.
His wkeepng isnt as good as Rahim's but may have something on his bttng..
