This time they did not face a provincial King of Western India but an emperor from Eastern India. Selucas was defeated. ChandraGupta, however, was very generous with the defeated general, and only took parts of Selucas' land as compensation and even gave 500 elephants as a gift. He also married Selucas' daughter thereby creating an alliance.
