Better "cash" in while they can. This sort of things can be easily avoided. Right after selecting the squad for the WC, they can easily announce bonuses/compensation for the entire team for making QF, SF, etc. This approach would be actually better, because it can motivate the players before hand. As usual, we do everything backward.

^ Exactly what I was trying to point out to the comparison made by Zeeshan. I don't think we have any problem with the amount, more to do with the bad timing. This shot of stuff should be written on the contracts. "If you avg this much. if your SR is this much by this day, if you score/get this many 100/wickets, you get that much bonus." NFL contracts are filled with incentives like that, it's almost like video games. If it's not on the contract, it's all just outrageous. Players are already getting paid to win. They shouldn't get extra money if it's not coming from their contracts.

Let's make a list of things that the BCB/Bangladesh Sports Ministry could have done with 2,000,000 (20 Lakh) BDT. I'll start (in no particular order):
1. Donated a substantial sum for the construction of the new Liberation War Museum in Agargaon (Would be in line with Mash's dedication at the post-match interview);
2. Contributed towards paying local players a higher salary;
3. Invested in a greater variety of pitches in the country;
4. Invested in the Bangladesh Women's Cricket Team (e.g. a domestic tournament)
Also, I agree with Dilscoop - if they are going to give 'performance incentives', they have to make it part of their contract rather than some spontaneous, state sponsored bonus. (It's such an antiquated thing to do too) They step in to give a bonus to a victorious team but they can't step in - as a guarantor - to fulfill the outstanding payments for BPL players and coaches?

Couldn't have they waited til the end of the tournament before announcing this, could cloud a lot of players mind.

No... its the "hanging Mula" with the hidden message... "More win, more money on the way".
