NFL players are paid 59.5% of NFL income. Me, I think first class players need to be cut into the deal, but as far as the idea of players earning a percentage of earnings ... go on strike to get it, and I'll back you.

জহির ভূইয়া: তীয় ক্রিকেট দলের তারকাদের সঙ্গে বিসিবি’র নতুন বেতন স্কেলের চুক্তি নভেম্বরে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে বলে জানা গেছে। বর্তমান চুক্তি আসছে অক্টোবরে শেষ হবে, আর হোম সিরিজে নিউজিল্যান্ডের বিপক্ষে নতুন চুক্তির আওতায় ক্রিকেটাররা মাঠে নামবে।
বিসিবি’র নতুন বেতন স্কেল অনুয়ায়ী ক্রিকেটারদের মাসিক আয়ও বেড়ে যাবে, নতুন ১২২ কোটি টাকার বাজেটে বিসিবি ক্রিকেটারদের বেতন স্কেল নতুন করে প্রণয়ন করেছে। বিসিবি ক্রিকেটারদের বেতনের স্কেলকে চার ভাগে ভাগ করে গ্রেডিং নিয়ম চালু করে অনেক আগেই। সে অনুযায়ী জাতীয় দলের ক্রিকেটাররা মাসিক বেতন স্কেলের চুক্তির আওতায় আর্থিক নিশ্চয়তা পেয়েছে। একজন ক্রিকেটার জাতীয় দলে নাম লেখানোর পর থেকে কিছু আন্তর্জাতিক ম্যাচ খেলার পরই বেতন স্কেলের চুক্তির আওতায় চলে আসে বলে জাতীয় দলের বর্তমান এক সদস্য জানিয়েছেন। তবে বিসিবি’র ভারপ্রাপ্ত সিইও নিজাম উদ্দিন সুজন ক্রিকেটারদের মাসিক বেতন স্কেলে নতুন কোন ক্রিকেটার চুক্তির আওতায় আসছে তা জানাতে অপারগতা জানান। তবে অনুসন্ধান ও ক্রিকেটারদের সঙ্গে কথা বলে অনেক তথ্য পাওয়া যায়। জাতীয় ক্রিকেট দলের ১৬ সদসের মধ্যে ১৫ জনই চুক্তির আওতায় আছে। এই সেদিন অভিষেক ঘটা জহুরুল ইসলাম অমি এখনও জাতীয় দলের বেতনভুক্ত ক্রিকেটারের আওতায় আসেননি বলে তিনি নিজেই জানিয়েছেন। জহুরুল বলেন, আমি এখনও চুক্তির আওতায় আসিনি, যখন ম্যাচ হয় সে মাসেই আমি বিসিবি’র কাছে থেকে টাকা পাই। তবে আগামী নভেম্বরে আমার সঙ্গে বিসিবি’র প্রথমবারের মতো চুক্তি হবে বলে জানি।’ চুক্তির আওতায় না থাকলেও কত টাকা ম্যাচের সময় তিনি আয় করেন তা জানাতে অস্বীকৃতি জানান। আর চুক্তির আওতায় থাকা ক্রিকেটাররা চারটি গ্রেডের আওতায় আছেন। ‘এ+’ গ্রেডে আছেন পাঁচ সিনিয়র ক্রিকেটার মাশরাফি, আশরাফুল, সাকিব, মুশফিক ও রাজ্জাক। গ্রেড ‘এ’-তে আছেন শুধুমাত্র তামিম ইকবাল, গ্রেড ‘বি’-তে আছেন ছয় ক্রিকেটার সৈয়দ রাসেল, নাঈম ইসলাম, মাহমুদুল্লাহ রিয়াদ, ইমরুল কায়েস, রকিবুল হাসান ও জুনায়েদ সিদ্দিকী। গ্রেড ‘সি’-তে একমাত্র ক্রিকেটার পেসার রুবেল হোসেন। এবং বিসিবি’র সর্বশেষ গ্রেড রুকি, এই রুকিতে মাত্র ৫টি ওডিআই ম্যাচ খেলা পেস বোলার শফিউল ও জহুরুল ইসলামের নাম আছে। শফিউল নিজেই জানিয়েছেন তিনি এখনও কোন গ্রেডিং নিয়মের ওপরে যেতে পারেননি। ম্যাচের সংখ্যার ওপর একজন ক্রিকেটারের গ্রেড ওপরে ওঠা নির্ভর করে, তাই আমার সময় লাগবে বললেন জহুরুল ইসলাম অমি। বিসিবির গ্রেডিং নিয়মে ‘এ+’ গ্রেডে বেতন পাচ্ছেন ক্রিকেটাররা ১ লাখ ৭ হাজার ৬৪০ টাকা, ‘এ’- গ্রেডে পাচ্ছেন ৮৯ হাজার ৭শ’ টাকা, গ্রেড ‘বি’- তে পাচ্ছে ৭১ হাজার ৭৬০ টাকা, গ্রেড ‘সি’- তে ৫৩ হাজার ৮২০ টাকা এবং রুকি লেভেলে ক্রিকেটাররা পাচ্ছে ৩৫ হাজার ৮৮০ টাকা। সে হিসাবে বিসিবি’র কাছ থেকে গ্রেড ‘এ+’ ক্রিকেটাররা মোটামুটি একটি বড় অংকের টাকাই বেতন পাচ্ছেন। এর সঙ্গে ক্রিকেটারদের বছরে ক্লাবগুলোতে বার্ষিক চুক্তির টাকা, সঙ্গে যুক্ত হবে বিসিবির হোম সিরিজে স্পন্সরশিপের টাকা থেকে ৩০ ভাগ টাকা। এছাড়া আন্তর্জাতিক ওডিআই ম্যাচে জাতীয় ক্রিকেট দলের ক্রিকেটাররা প্রতিটি ওডিআই ম্যাচে ২শ’ ডলার আর টেস্টে ৫শ’ ডলার জন প্রতি আয় করে থাকেন ম্যাচ ফি হিসাবে। আর ক্রিকেটারদের নিজস্ব স্পন্সরের টাকা ক্রিকেটারদের আয়ের পরিমাণ বাড়িয়েছে। বাংলাদেশের শীর্ষস্থানীয় ক্রিকেটারদের অনেকেই বছরে কোটি টাকার উপর আয় করছেন। ভারতের আইপিএল ও আইসিএল এবং ইংল্যান্ডের কাউন্টিতে খেলার কারণে বাংলাদেশের ক্রিকেটারদের আয় আরও বেড়ে গেছে। বাংলাদেশী ক্রিকেটারদের মধ্যে সবচেয়ে ধনী ক্রিকেটারের নাম এই মুহূর্তে সাকিব আল হাসান। কারণ ইংল্যান্ডের কাউন্টি ক্রিকেট চ্যাম্পিয়নশিপে প্রথম বাংলাদেশী খেলছেন। আর ইংল্যান্ডের পাউন্ডের হিসাবে তাই সাকিবই বর্তমানে সবচেয়ে ধনী ক্রিকেটার বাংলাদেশ দলে। বাংলাদেশ দলের ক্রিকেটার হিসাবে মাশরাফি প্রতি মাসে বিসিবির কাছ থেকে বেতন পান ১ লাখ ৭ হাজার ৬৪০ টাকা। সে হিসাবে বছরে ১২ লাখ ৯১ হাজার ৬৮০ টাকা। এর সঙ্গে যোগ হয়েছে গত মওসুমে ঘরোয়া ক্রিকেটে ক্লাবের কাছ থেকে আয় করা বছরে ২৫ লাখ টাকা। আশরাফুল সেই একই গ্রেডে পাচ্ছেন ১ লাখ ৭ হাজার ৬৪০ টাকা। সে হিসাবে বছরে ১২ লাখ ৯১ হাজার ৬৮০ টাকা। আর গত মওসুমে ঘরোয়া ক্রিকেটে মোহামেডানের কাছ থেকে আয় করেছেন বছরে ২৫ লাখ টাকা। ‘এ+’ গ্রেডে এই হিসাবেই আছেন সাকিব, ১ লাখ ৭ হাজার ৬৪০ টাকা প্রতিমাসে আর বছরে ১২ লাখ ৯১ হাজার ৬৮০ টাকা আয় করা সাকিব আবাহনীর কাছ থেকে গত মওসুমে ঘরোয়া ক্রিকেটে আয় করেছেন ২৫ লাখ টাকা। উইকেটকিপার মুশফিক রহিমও
প্রথম সারিতেই আছেন। মুশফিক বিসিবির কাছ থেকে আয় করেন প্রতি মাসে ১ লাখ ৭ হাজার ৬৪০ টাকা। সে হিসাবে বছরে ১২ লাখ ৯১ হাজার ৬৮০ টাকা। এর সঙ্গে যোগ হয়েছে গত মওসুমে ঘরোয়া ক্রিকেটে ক্লাবের কাছ থেকে আয় করা বছরে ২০ লাখ টাকা। স্পিনার আবদুর রাজ্জাকও ১ লাখ ৭ হাজার ৬৪০ টাকা প্রতি মাসে আয় করেন। সে হিসাবে বছরে ১২ লাখ ৯১ হাজার ৬৮০ টাকা। এর সঙ্গে যোগ হয়েছে গত মওসুমে ঘরোয়া ক্রিকেটে ক্লাবের কাছ থেকে আয় করা বছরে ১৮ লাখ টাকা। গ্রেড ‘এ’- তে থাকা ওপেনার তামিম ইকবাল প্রতিমাসে বিসিবির কাছ থেকে পান ৮৯ হাজার ৭শ’ টাকা। বছরে ১০ লাখ ৭৬ হাজার ৪শ’ টাকা। তামিম ঘরোয়া ক্রিকেট মওসুমে মোহামেডানের কাছ থেকে ২০ লাখ টাকা আয় করেন। ‘বি’ গ্রেডে থাকা ছয় ক্রিকেটার সৈয়দ রাসেল, নাঈম ইসলাম, মাহমুদুল্লাহ, ইমরুল কায়েস, রকিবুল হাসান ও জুনায়েদ সিদ্দিকী প্রত্যেকেই প্রতিমাসে বেতন পান ৭১ হাজার ৭শ’ ৬০ টাকা। সে হিসাবে এই ছয় ক্রিকেটার বছরে প্রত্যেকেই আয় করেন ৮ লাখ ৬১ হাজার ১২০ টাকা, আর এ সঙ্গে ক্লাবের আয় তো আছেই। গ্রেড ‘সি’- তে থাকা একমাত্র ক্রিকেটার পেসার রুবেল হোসেন মাসে ৫৩ হাজার ৮২০ টাকা হিসাবে ১২ মাসে আয় করেন ৬ লাখ ৪৫ হাজার ৮৪০ টাকা আর সঙ্গে ক্লাব থেকে বার্ষিক আয়। বিসিবি তৈরি গ্রেডের শেষে দিকে থাকা রুকিতে আছেন দুই পেসার শফিউল ইসলাম ও রকিবুল ইসলাম। এরা দু’জনই প্রতিমাসে ৩৫ হাজার ৮৮০ টাকা হিসাবে বছরে ৪ লাখ টাকা ৩০ হাজার ৫৬০ টাকা। সঙ্গে ক্লাবের বার্ষিক আয়। এভাবে জাতীয় ক্রিকেট দলের প্রতিটি ক্রিকেটারের আয়ই একটি সম্মান জনক স্থানে পৌঁছে গেছে। এখন আর ক্রিকেটারদের আয়কে খাটো করার কোন সুযোগই নেই। কারণ জাতীয় দলের বাইরে থাকা ক্রিকেটাররাও বছরে ক্লাবগুলো থেকে মোটা অংকের অর্থ পেয়ে থাকেন। তবে সুনির্দিষ্ট আয়ের পরও ক্রিকেটে ম্যাচ ফিঙিং বা পাতানো ম্যাচের ভয় থেকেই যায়। যেমন এ বছরের শুরুতেই সাকিব আর তামিমকে ম্যাচ পাতানো খেলায় অংশ নিতে টাকার প্রস্তাব দেয়া হয়েছিল। তবে বাংলাদেশের জাতীয় ক্রিকেট দলকে নিয়ে সে ভয় নেই বলেই মনে করে বিসিবি। কারণ এ পর্যন্ত ক্রিকেটাররা যা কিছুই হয়েছে সঙ্গে সঙ্গে বিসিবিকে টিম ম্যানেজমেন্টের মাধ্যমে অবগত করেছে।

I still feel that BCB should give contracts to more players even those in the A team and should also help the U19 players financially, after all. they are the future of BD cricket.

BTW, I read that someone on this forum questioned where Tamim got the money to buy his BMW. Very outrageous stuff to be digging into someone's finance. Actually, it is no one's business.
It looks like he was implicating Tamim in something illegal. Tamim is an intelligent young lad and would not throw away his whole future, he will make millions of dollars playing cricket, but the correct way.
Many of these young cricketers have become somewhat affluent by BD standards in the last couple of years and they deserve it.
Ashraful from a poor family has become somewhat affluent through playing cricket, only lately he could have afforded to buy his own apartment. I would say that the top players who are affluent are Mash, Ash, Tamim, Shakib and Mushy.

I was really upset at this forum for allowing that member to post that baseless and damaging post. I hope this guy was banned.

some aussie players earn in millions per year there was an article on cricinfo and bcb realesed a statement about the bd salaries few years ago
