Not really pleased with Shakib's post match interview. Why can't our players give an analysis of the match like other players (Sangakarra)? It seems like all they can do is stutter and then give a basic response that shows no insight into the game whatsoever. 'hopefully, we will do better next time" "we played good cricket". What the hell was Shakib thinking when he said that? How did we play good cricket? Our batting was weak and our bowling was toothless. For all you commending the boys for making 249, Zimbabwe could probably make 300 on this pitch. And whats up with the 30 runs short thing? We were like 100 runs short...

Everytime!!!! Everytime they send in tamim iqbal to bowl i always miss it
I have only myself to blame, if i had not been selfish and put my self through the torture of watching SL batsmen domolish our bowlers, i might have jus caught our best opener in bowling action

I can not overcome the fact that Bangladesh chose to bat after winning the toss against India. That was the only time we won the toss and we blew it.

I just wonder if we would be able to bat the same way if we'd somehow found a way to bat second in any of these games...

Speaks volumes about your analytical skills, doesn't it?

J/K, the results were like that because our batsmen had had enough of scoring in the high 200's and decided it was time to go back to their reckless ways. Well at least we score 250 now on a bad day.

The truth is that we have been outclassed by SL in every department- bowling, fielding, batting and attitude. There was virtually nothing on offer for the bowlers in the flat pitch, and this was made worse by dew factor. The SL bowlers showed great discipline and character and took full advantage by bowling first and this was backed up by great fielding; thus they managed to restrict us 50-70 run short of a competitive target. So kudus to SL.
It remains to be seen how we would fare should we win the toss and decide to bowl first in the next match against India.

Cricinfo has a nice article about shakib's press conference after the match.
http://www.cricinfo.com/tri-bdesh201...ry/443157.html

Bottom line: Improvement in our cricket is a gradual process, so we have to give time for the team to grow into a formidable unit.

I do not discount the improvement in batting. Actually, we have done well recently, and we have done it the right way. Saying that, we have still miles to go. For example: I have yet to see our batsmen scoring hundreds after getting good reasonable starts. Not long ago, we will have one batsman score a fifty and the rest will add 20 something individually towards the total with the help of tail. Now a days, high fifties and forties are norm's from more than a few players in each game ( though the tail has stopped contributing ), but what we really need is to get hundreds from at least one set batsman. It will come eventually. So, yea, improvement in approach of batting is there, so are the results in total score. But, at the same time, our bowling has taken a nosedive though injuries are factor now, but even when we had full compliment of pacers, we were unable to do anything with them. Real improvement will come when all two departments are complimenting each other. With it comes victories. We have taken a move forward with the bat, but two step backwards with the ball.
