Racist ranting against Cricinfo is a little tiresome. Frankly, I don't get much better coverage of Bangladesh cricket anywhere else. Ball-by-ball updates of all national team games. Scorecards for all domestic games. Frequent, timely and well-written articles by Isam. And a whole slew of stats about players (past and present), matches, stadiums, etc. Not much wrong with that. Yes, there is an India bias within Cricinfo, but I think they make a more-than-decent effort with Bangladesh cricket too (except for certain individuals, e.g. S. Rajesh).

"Tendulkar mania grips Kolkata" and why should the rest of the world care?? I wonder if there is a difference between Cricinfo's Global and India edition.

Think of it this way:
Is Cricinfo often exhibiting bias towards smaller cricketing nations such as Bangladesh?
Yes. (Unless you are Ireland or Afghanistan or Papua New Guinea, in which case there will be romantic paeans sung).
Does a majority of the CI staff happen to be of Indian ethnicity?
Yes.
However neither facts allows one to make an ad hominem statement about an entire country!

Even though cricinfo sometimes becomes crapinfo, still it is the best cricket news source for us - much better than our own www.tigercricket.com
Thanks cricinfo for your Bangladesh cricket section ![I am not worthy](images/smilies/iamnotworthy.gif)

Cricinfo was developed by a few Indians, I believe. It was bought first by Wisden and then by ESPN. Thus, the Indian bias is not surprising. However, a few of their writers really have it against us. Otherwise, I don't mind it that much.

Cricinfo guys must come to this forum....
Match winning day - 'NZ is closing in...'
Few hours later - 'BD chase down 309' with Rohit Sharma's picture on the front
Few more hours later - 'BD chase down...' Goes down to other news, RS still on the front
24 hrs later -'BD chase down...' Back on the main news. With Nasir and Gazi's picture
36 hrs later - no change
48 hrs late - the news moves down to other news but the pic remains which is very surprising

No it wasn't. Don't you remember the usenet days of rec.sport.cricket? Cricinfo grew from a multinational group of grad students and researchers/professionals. R.s.c was their hang out place and the founders started IRC commentary and collating all the available scorecards. Simon King - a researcher or post doc at U MInnesota and Badri Sheshadri (another grad student? In the US) started it. Statsguru was started by another rsc denizen - Travis.
All this was around 89-93.

They may have to drop the cavalier indifference when we win and the bitchfully obvious malice once we start winning games as the norm. Those days are coming InshAllah, maybe not "just around the corner", but definitely before the next 12 years,

Nice observation. I have set a status in facebook with that
Cricinfo supports the elite after all.

I was going through the NZ forum and found this: 'Cricinfo headline is a bit optimistic:
"New Zealand close in despite steady Nasir". '
