True. We need runs from him, the more the better. Anything else(Like youtube-worthy shotplay ) is purely optional. Though I'd ask for a SR of atleast 65 in ODI's, like today. Not too aggresive, not JO either.

#1, you mean opener?

Good win but Ash typically slow, Rubel short and wide, Shakib needs to put slip in when new bats at the crease!
Tamim needs to give the very first ball of the match a straight bat, at least

Oh. Well he can lay at 3. Dev Whatmore experimented with Opener Ash once. Epic Fail, that was.

Can we play the 2nd ODI with one pacer?
As Razzaq can start bowling with a new ball, can we start the 2nd ODI with only one pacer and add another all rounder or batsman in the team?
Guys what do you think or am I getting too greedy like a hog butcher?

Slow isn't typical of Ash.
A matured batsman bats according to the pitch and match situation.

And also he would have generate some pace for sure but that unfortunate run out...It was a very well planned and matured innings by him. He is the backbone of BD batting.

Bhaire,
Before he fell from the grace Ash used to be my favourite bat. I am well aware of his idiosyncrasies!
Ash is typically very slow or very fast. There is absolutely nothing in between...just like his ears! I think more descerning of observers will agree with me
Btw, had Ash paced his innings a little better we could have had, at least, twenty more runs in the kitty. We shouldnt be pleased with mere 50s from a batter with 140 ODIs!
