আড়াই কোটি টাকার মুদ্রাসহ বিমানবালা গ্রেফতার

হযরত শাহজালাল আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দরে আড়াই কোটি টাকার বিদেশি মুদ্রাসহ কামরুন্নাহার টুটুল (২৮) নামে এক বিমানবালাকে গ্রেফতার করেছে পুলিশ। গতকাল ভোরে বিমানবন্দরের বহির্গমন টার্মিনাল ভবনের ৬ নম্বর গেটে সিভিল এভিয়েশনের স্ক্যানিং মেশিনে তল্লাশিকালে বিমানবালার কাছে অবৈধ মুদ্রা থাকার বিষয়টি ধরা পড়ে। এ সময় নিরাপত্তাকর্মীরা বিমানবালাকে চ্যালেঞ্জ করেন। পরে কাস্টমস কর্মকর্তারা এসে কামরুন্নাহারের কাছ থেকে বিদেশি মুদ্রা উদ্ধার করেন।
বিমানবন্দরে দায়িত্বরত কাস্টমস কর্মকর্তাদের ধারণা, বিদেশি মুদ্রাসহ গ্রেফতার বিমানবালা আন্তর্জাতিক পাচারকারী চক্রের সদস্য হয়ে কাজ করতেন। বিমানবালা পরিচয়ের আড়ালে তিনি মুদ্রা পাচারের সঙ্গে জড়িত। তার গ্রামের বাড়ি দিনাজপুরের পার্বতীপুরে। ১০ বছর ধরে বাংলাদেশ এয়ারলাইন্সে
বিমানবালা হিসেবে কাজ করছেন। বর্তমানে তিনি জাপান গার্ডেন সিটিতে থাকেন। তিনি দুই সন্তানের জননী।
জানা গেছে, গতকাল ভোরে বিমানবন্দর বহির্গমন টার্মিনাল ভবনের ৬ নম্বর গেটে সিভিল এভিয়েশনের হেভিলাগেজ স্ক্যানিং মেশিনে লাগেজ তল্লাশিকালে তার লাগেজে বৈদেশিক মুদ্রার অস্তিত্ব ধরা পড়ে। এ সময় চ্যালেঞ্জ করলে লাগেজে মুদ্রা থাকার বিষয়টি তিনি অস্বীকার করেন। পরে বিষয়টি সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্মীরা কাস্টমস কর্তৃপক্ষকে জানান। উপস্থিত সব সংস্থার সামনে তার লাগেজ ও দেহ তল্লাশি করে ২ কোটি ৪৯ লাখ ৯১ হাজার ৭৯৪ টাকার সমপরিমাণ বিদেশি মুদ্রা উদ্ধার করেন কর্মকর্তারা। এর মধ্যে রয়েছে সৌদি রিয়াল, কাতার, ইউএস ডলার, দিরহাম ও পাউন্ড। মুদ্রার চালান কাস্টমস কর্তৃপক্ষ নিজেদের হেফাজতে রেখে বিমানবালাকে থানায় সোপর্দ করে।
কাস্টমসের উপ-কমিশনার কাজী তৌহিদা আখতার সমকালকে জানান, প্রাথমিক জিজ্ঞাসাবাদে বিমানবালা টুটুল জানান, তার দুই সন্তানের চিকিৎসার জন্য অনেক টাকা ঋণ হয়েছে। তাই তিনি এ চক্রে জড়িয়ে পড়েছেন।
বিমানবন্দর সূত্র জানায়, বাংলাদেশ বিমানের (বিজি-০১৫ নম্বর ) ঢাকা-দুবাই-লন্ডন একটি ফ্লাইটে ডিউটি করতে অভিনব কায়দায় লাগেজে ও দেহে বিদেশি মুদ্রা লুকিয়ে বিমানবন্দরে আসেন কামরুন্নাহার। তার দুই উরুতে ৪টি অ্যাংলেট দিয়ে বাঁধা ছিল প্রায় ২ কোটি টাকার মুদ্রা। অবশিষ্ট মুদ্রা ছিল লাগেজের মধ্যে কালো কার্বনে মোড়ানো। এ ঘটনায় কাস্টমস কর্তৃপক্ষ বাদী হয়ে কামরুন্নাহারের বিরুদ্ধে বিমানবন্দর থানায় একটি মামলা করেছেন।

Yup. BNP picked the worst time for strike for an issue that public don't care much about. BAL wanted just that & is evicting Khaleda just before Eid on purpose. Public are the worst sufferers as usual.

We will see the ramifications of this day in years to come. But I must say Khaleda Zia could have scored major political points had she returned the house gracefully once it was inevitable that AL would not let this go and she would be evicted eventually.

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Saturday said police dragged her from the bedroom of her house in the Dhaka Cantonment in a single dress.

“They entered my bedroom and ransacked all furniture. They did not allow me to bring some items bearing the memory of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman,” a tearful Khaleda said at a press briefing at her Gulshan office in the evening.

The opposition leader said police in the morning entered her Dhaka cantonment residence by breaking open its main gate and evacuated her from the house.

Khaleda said the members of law enforcement agencies cordoned off the residence since the midnight of Friday to evacuate her.

Khaleda reached her Gulshan office in the afternoon after being evacuated from her Dhaka Cantonment residence.
