Everyone can have their own opinion that is why we do close door meeting between the key people so we can keep thing confidential before any decision. Then why you are calling a bad practice.. Leaking the key information from a confidential meeting is a bad practice. Ash was not a victim here, he played the test and scored. That is why you making this comment. If he was unsuccessful you wouldn't make this comment here. I dont see any issue if Shakib doesnt want Ash to be his team. Ash is super unpredictable everyone knows that. Why you are calling him victim? doesnt make any sense!

So why didn't he or every one know that he will play well? And it wasn't Ash alone for your information. If you continuously oppose inclusion of some team members and that's known to all as well, how the he'll those guys will perform? And the guys he preferred, did they perform? So what's the point? You must be flexible to try others when your favs aren't performing. Stubbornness and vindication isn't the way of leadership, that must come out. It was going on for all his tenure under the shelter of JS.

I don't still say that Shakib's sacking was the perfect decision, but wrong practices must be published, otherwise it continues. Whether it's closed door or open door, that's un important. These meetings aren't closed door to hide from us, but from the opponents prior to the match. But once you lose match after match and never Listen to others, that needs to be published by the people responsible to stop long term damage to the team and it's environment. Well, that's my opinion, as much right you have to make your opinion. IMO, it was the right decision to publish it in this current context, let Shakib come out with the explanation of not wanting someone permanently, if he can't that's vindication. All players must be able to play freely, not in a situation where it's clear that the captain doesn't want some one for no reason.

First of all ask yourself who are the Regular performers of Bangladesh team. Shakib, Tamim, Mushi..... Can you recall any more names. So we expect to see players coming into the team randomly and going until we find a performer. He doesnt have any good test score for last 2 years to make him a auto choice in the team. Moreover everyone knows If Ash is not in the team Bangladesh wins . Look I dont have any personal issue against Ash, but they way Media praise about Ash its wrong, he is a ordinary perform with some extra ordinary cricketing brain. He cant be any automatic choice. Other then Ash I never heard about anyone particular(may be SN but he is a culprit) shakib doesnt like to pick in his team. Shak always like to pick the performers in his team, everyone knows Rok is Shakibs friend but since he doesnt perform anymore he is not in the national team. Razzak didnt perform properly and he was dropped. So tell me where is the issue apart from Ash.

And you mentioned wrong practices must be published and shouldnt be tolerated in that case the way they Sack Shakib is a wrong practice by BCB too. We can clearly see there was politics behind it. And this wrong practice by BCB shouldnt be tolerated too. BCB has their own fault behind the debacle and they are doing all these drama to cover up their fault. How this will improve our cricket for long run? Do you have any answer for that?

@ tiger_army, pl don't bring in the debate of Ash vs Shakib/Tamim/Mushy... I'm not participating in that. Ash icurrent form isn't even comparable to this three.

The team isn't made of 3 players. If you don't agre that's fine, no need to do this debate. If you want then talk about 11/15 i.e. The entire team. The game is played by 11 on each side.

And the drops you refer, visit some of the relevant threads, you will know who and how those had to be dropped.

Reasoned argument? Nor for them, they are a people of blind faith and abuse.
Yeah says the guy who asks to "read between the lines" when his statement itself is pretty damn explicit.

Pretty much this.

"it's about practicing wrong things in closed doors over a reasonable period"

Are we sure they are practicing wrong "things" (means several) in closed doors for long?

"Why a player will be victimized in closed doors? If that's not victimizing, why doesn't he talk about that and justify that?"

If the team captain took stance against any particular inclusion in the XI, then he must had to show an explanation as well. Are we sure he didn't justify his stand on those meetings?

And then, look at these numbers: 79-----25-----13-----4-----5-----1-----31-----20-----9-----14-----13-----6-----1-----11-----2-----6-----15

These are the ODI innings played by a particular player from Jan 2010 till now. Do you think this particular player deserves a place in the playing XI? Can we really define it as a "victimization" if any captain opposes such player's continuous inclusion in the playing XI?

Bro dont waste you time arguing with a brainwashed person.whatever stats you will put up here they will disagree..

It is good to let Shakib off captaincy, it will relieve some pressure. He will be offered captaincy again in a few years when he will be more than ready, Bangladesh will voyage into a new horizon then

He would never ditch Bollinger (Robiul of Oz) or Khawaja (Hom of Oz) to go dine alone with Clarke just because they are better players, or more cool, or whatever. Especially as a captain, you have to be very professional in public life, lead by example and sacrifice things in life you wouldn't normally. Bangladeshis fall over themselves a million times to get a chance in IPL, yet look at how many times Clarke has rejected $1Million+ offers from IPL?

Just a reminder: Ponting won three World Cups for his country, Shakib won 3-4 World Cup matches with a lot of help. Yes, Shakib is grade above the others. Yes, swagger is good. But no captain has any right to diss a player in public, to diss a selectro (ever), and to blame things on everything else but himself.

As someone mentioned, since the BCB could not be bothered enough to organise net sessions, why could he not organise something? He IS the captain... If he called up ground staff, I am sure they'd obeylike his servants. Yes, so could have razzak, Nafess etc. but he has an authority to do these things, and hence would have done tis easily. Basically, some Shakib supporters are being nuts.

Oh, and Tamim...the guy looks like an idiot now for not being able to back up his words with action ever since that stupid announcementbefore the 2011 WC.. He was getting a bit-headed, and his form was getting affectd as a result, so he was going to get dropped as vc anyway.

telling ur team mates off n screaming at them in the game is normal thing to do. if u ever played a team sport, u'll know it happens, and they get over it. its perfectly normally, n its healthy too. u don;t want to encourage low standards, and when people slip up when they shudn;t they should be questioned. when did he ever diss his own player?!?!?!!? i'm totally lost here

i missed the part where shakib went public and bad mouthed his own players? when did he do he that? and don't say shakib hasn't sacrificed anything, he worked hard to be one of the top top allrounders in the world. dont u dare imply that he is spoilt or dosn;t work hard. there are articles n interviews to back up his dedication.

doesn;t matter how many games or tournies they won, like i said i missed the part where shakib dissed his own players. the players support him, like mushy said, like law said...why do u beg to differ? and there has been plenty of times where he said they underperformed with the bat and/or ball, and he wud acknolwedge that? wat the hell do u want him to do? say "oh i didnt do good so we lost" whenever the team failed he pledged improvement from everyone, whenever the team succeeded he acknowledged everyones contributions...hes not the selfish soul u want to be angry at mate.

and tamim doesn;t look an idiot alright. anyone can be confident when things are going great on the field, and anyone can talk after scoring tonnes. being exposed once or twice is no shame. atleast hes got the guts to talk it up. it may not work all the time, but more often than not he will back it up n people wil lfear him. everyone wants to shoot him down for saying thsoe things n being confident....but its easy to be confident after u score, but being confdent when ur back is agasint the wall n that is the art. get over it..u will see how he backs it up.

Never mind.. he can't come up with that because it never happened .. this is one of the things i have noticed with shakib haters.. they are always coming up with these baseless allegations , but cannot name a single instance of when it happened.

Firstly about Tamim... he has been looking like an idiot for a year now. I think its part of his own game to talk himself up. But he is taking too much pressure on himself. The guy is not doing something right. However, I cannot point to what that exactly is as I am not the coach. It is however my recommendation that he keeps his gob shut till he performs consistently for a series. And he should never diss an opponent the way he has this year. Puts pressure on himself AND makes our team look arrogant. If he uses half his brain I believe he will score big consistently. And I do believe he will start scoring in 3-4 years like Cook is doing now, if he concentrates only on his own game. He is eager to lead vocally, but clearly that is hindering his game. I think he puts in work, but does not plan well. He probably just practices his slog-sweeps and pulls and works on his fitness rather than concentraitng on his whole game.

Now Shakib...he by his own admission does not practice bowling. Maybe the time has come for him to do that. Not sure how good he actually is with his batting.. he is one of the best three currently in the team but maybe he can be our Murali with the ball if he gives greater emphasis. With all the sponsorships and foreign contracts, captaincy was one thing too many on his plate. It is good for his own game that he lost it.

In terms of the controversies, it definitely sounded like he was taking certain people's sides (Razzak, Rakib) and dissing others ( Riyad, Ashraful, S Nafees) from multiple reports. Now, I have not been in the dressing room, but neither have you, to back him so vocally. With these things, some of the allegations always turn out to be right. His behaviour definitely was not befitting a captain's if any of these are true.

Now, some mentioned he felt the wrath for being an Abahoni captain or sth or other. There definitely can be personal grudges against him, but I am sure that without valid reasoning not even the BCB would dare take such stern measures of action against Shakib. Stop being a blind fan and try to understand other people's logic/emotions, deshprem.

I think the removal of Shakib and Tamim from their posts would actually help lift their game within a couple of series, especially since both the coach and Mushqiue (most likely the new skipper) have shown full support to him. Shakib probably wouldn't want to let them down. I am sure he is not a child.

Are you serious??? When did he say he does not practice bowling? On the contrary, whenever his bowling form dipped, there were even television reports (news clips) showing Shakib bowling consistently in the nets to get it right. And this was as recent as either the world cup or the Australian series. For Zimbabwe series, it was a different case altogether because his bowling finger was hurt.

So again, Where on the world did you get this information that he does not practice bowling much ??

We probably follow different teams! If there is one thing that people vehemently opposed against Shakib's captaincy would admit is that his individual form has not at all suffered during his stint as a captain. On the contrary, he kind of performed better than usual (NZ series, WI series) as a captain. And you still think he needs to lift his game? Somebody was talking about blindness .
