Soumya and Liton should not play in the same game. Both are walking wickets and we can only afford one in this batting order. Too much pressure right now on Shakib, Mushfiq, Tamim and Ryad to score. The rest of the jokers cannot even get 50 additional runs combined.

Mash is only useful if the pitch has some juice, he will be great asset in English condition for the team if he can remain fit. But for batting pitches he is just ordinary, even creates less chances than Rubel. We get too carried away with captaincy of someone but at the end of the day he is just another player in the eleven. There are other potential captain materials who need to be groomed. A lot of members here prefer Miraz for that although I have slightly different opinion. Foremost, Miraz is not an ideal permanent ODI bowler yet. He does well against WIndies does not mean he will do well against top opponents. Upcoming match in Sylhet will demand a high scoring total or chase. Either way Mashrafe has become a walking wicket and his batting nowadays gets rare click, almost like Eid innings if you say.

With ball Mashrafe remains one of our best performers. He is in the team on merit and his position as a player CANNOT be debated!

Bro, really unfortunate choice of ex players to pine for. None of the gentlemen you mentioned can be described as a good T20 player. Just because they liked to throw their bat around, doesn't mean they were good T20 batsmen. I think there is a serious lack of understanding of T20 batsmanship in our country. Take a look at Warner, Rohit, or Butler. This guys aren't the top because they try to hit each ball for six.

Today's match proved what I have been saying always: openers should never play as middle order batsmen or finishers.

I think team had more energy and commitment today. West Indies already gave up when they were fielding.
Tamim’s maturity really showed. Sarkar had a good outing he likes playing lifting shots all the time scares me. I still think he should be pushed down the order if Liton bats as an opener in ODIs. But in t20 Sarkar’s place is one down.

Pin drop silence from the soumya haters today. Nice to see. Indeed nice to see.
Perhaps they sailed away with the ball 95 meters away from the forum.

Thats because hacks like Mithun and Fazle Rabbi get picked ahead of talents like Mosaddek or even Shanto.
Mosaddek is a must in the ODI top order and thats what has been proven time and again.

Didnt watch the match but saw the highlight. Seemed like Sharkar wanted the century so badly that he gifted his wicket away. Any insights?

1st T20 BD v WI 2018
Pathetic batting on a flat wicket. Easily gifted wickets. 130 on excellent batting wicket is laughable and shameful effort. Min 180 needed.

Poor batting and team selection and bowling strategy
Why Ariful is considered baffled me. Mahamdullah should not be t20 material. Mehedy is garbage in t20

On this kind of pitch the top order should have done way more , the way they got out was unacceptable , that set the trend for rest of the match.
Mushfiqurs run out was unfortunate, but they should have been more careful, that cost us some more.
They should stop picking T20 lineups based on ODIs and Tests and applying the same tactic of using two spinners in beginning again and again

So...you see...it's not that they were thrashed that is hurting. At least for me, that's not it.
It's that they still do not understand the importance of specializing. T20 is not Tamim's or Soumya's format. T20 team should be given to Liton. Also need a more skilled wicket keeper than Feequr in T20 to make all chances count. Also need to bring back Al Amin to pair Fizz in the front, to shoot your best shot. You keep seeing this same lame old bunch like a circus going from format to format and expected to perform, it's quite sickening!
The 3 formats are worlds apart!! Specialize or perish!

Yes, I agree Riad is great in T20I and should be permanently in.
Ideally since the ban is lifted and considering Mushfiqur's last 4 match scores, the team should look like, getting rid of useless Ariful also
Liton(wk)-Tamim-Soummya-Shakib(c)-Riad-Mithun-Ash-Saif-Rubel-FIzz-Apu
This is a super balanced team with enough spin variation and pace/batting firepower.
Hope BCB comes to their senses and starts thinking strategically format-centric.

I think Mushfique is a useful t20 player as well. I would also bring in Sabbir in our t20 squad.
Ash is too old. Beside he needs to shine in BPL before he can be brought back to t20 national squad.
