Its a long way till we can target a world cup title. Lets take it slowly. I will be more than happy if we can make it to the semi final next time. In reality even that looks like a difficult target to achieve.

Yeah take it slow. First aim should be to win consistently against top sides. Then draw/win tests. Then finally comes world cup.

without any plan and infrastructure, day dreaming wont help...ur dreams can take u to infinity but u have to work accordingly..and atm i dont see any light..if shakib maintains this consistency and we have some more consistent players in the future we may have a chance in 2019-2023

Being an optimist, I say 2015 world cup should come home.
Being realistic, 2027 is when we are really in contention. . . :/

All this talks about winning world cup and stuff, put a leash on it for a while buddy.
Still trying to wake up from a nightmarish world cup. Not ready for another prep talk.
I was there, both occasions, 58 and 78. On the ground. All the adrenaline have rushed out.

This is a thread two years too early.
Can relate to that.

I've realised this. In an ODI, Shakib + Tamim rarely fire together. . .

It is not a question of how badly we want to win the world cup. Its more a question of when will we have the right kind of depth in both bowling and batting for us to win a Worldcup. If desire and passion could win cricket games then we, the fans of BC would have all become international cricketers. What differentiates our boys and a good cricket side is the skill levels, temparment as well as understanding of the game.

Sri Lanka has already shown us what we need to do in order rise from being a minnow into a worldcup champion. If you look at their 96 squad... they had a great leader, who was also a fantastic middle order player, they had Arvinda who was one of the best no. 3 batters around one that could play both pace and spin equally well, they had Jaysuria and Kalu who were limited in technique but highly effective in attacking the new ball during field restrictions, they had a varied spin attack and swing bowlers who did a good enough holding job.

If you compare that side with our current side now... our middle order is non existant. We don't have a single world class batter in the middle order. Our opening combination is simply okay but does not pack enough punch to upset teams on their own. Our bowling attack is severely one dimentional. So out of 11 slots needed to build a worldcup winning side we probably can fill only two positions with Shakib and Tamim.

Of course I want the WC to be ours. I believe that by next WC, our boys will be a lot better. We still have to be more consistent then we are now. Key is to win more series against the G8. If we can do that then we can become a good ODI side. Between 07-11, we just won 1 series against a G8 team. That's just not good enough if you want to win a WC. We had some wins here and there but we just haven't been consistent enough.

The core we have now is pretty promising. We finally have an opening pair in Tamim and Imrul, a good #3 in SN, and a world class allrounder in Shakib at #5. In our batting order, we still need a #4. I thought not figuring who was gonna be our #4 for this past WC really hurt us bad. Rokibul wasn't the answer and we kept on trying him and then in the WC we tried Mushy who was no better. We should've figured that out long ago. I believe Shakib's the right man for the job since he's our best at rotating the strike. And then our bowling is pretty promising as well. Shafiul looks like he can be a world class bowler and played big parts in wins. Rubel also has big potential. We got Shakib of course. So I'm optimistic for the next 1. We just have to plan it well.

Siddons did say that the players are yet to peak, and they are maybe just two years from it. I hope he was right. . .

One step at a time. The team is nearly not good enough other than Tamim and Shakib. They will have to work really hard to get their game right for Australia. Daunting task considering how they played at home in WC.

Need a great batting coach.

I personally think that Kayes is better than Tamim. He can actually hit big when required, he just doesn't want to. He is soon going to get the acknowledgement Trott gets.

Siddons said that because he wanted to coach them for another 2/3 years.

our batting cann't show consistence. Sometime they looks good but sometimes miserable. Bowling isn't very good it needs improve.

If team continues improvement we can hope for 2019 WC.
