20 people viewing this thread. Its almost like a match thread lol.
Any ways, I hope the main players get picked for most of the ODI series. That will be more fun. I'm getting sick of hearing the term "Not a full strength WI side" or equivalent.

To be honest, the side we have just beaten ain't that bad and not too far off from the main test eleven..lets not forget Gayle's thoughts and disinterest about Test match cricket earlier in the year while they toured England..

But glad they are coming back, hope Bd can take the ODI series with the momentum they have and show improvements in the T20 with a set plan to follow..

This whole drama was clearly out of laziness by the top WI players. They did not want to play a test series against Bangladesh and opted for a break. This is a sad and shameful episode. I hope WiCB picks them and we play out of our skins to make a mark in the ODI series. T-2o match is like a lottery. Doesn't matter who they field, result could go either ways.

Provisional squads for 2009 Champions Trophy are announced today. WI players had to make themselves available to have their names in for it.

I hope they play coz there are still some people who refuse to acknowledge our achievement because we whitewashed a 'weakened' WI team. Well I think we are capable of facing the 'real' WI team, so BRING IT!

all we need now is for Ash to click in the game over ride mode and play his best game.

He have won the test series, Shakib & Co.are in super up beat mode.
All I want is Ash to show some magic.

excellent news. In a full strength ODI squad Kemar Roach, and David Bernard should be included. Now the real fun will begin.

We can now consider the Test series just about the best warm-up we've had, before an ODI series. I don't worry about the T20, we've already beaten them in that form. Even a 1-2 would look very good on us.

It's time to stand up and deliver.

Yes, 1-2 most probable and we must win at least one game. Rmr WI at their full strength is a good team. I am sure we will loose the T20's.

They have already announced the Squad for the WI ODI. Can they change the players so quickly?

I felt the main WI players announced their intention to be available today for selection is because of the Champion Trophy.

That was my understanding as well and for some funny reason I had the feeling that Gayle and company will come back but did not expect that soon. Actually they are hungry for ODIs and T20Is.

This would be fun. While the whole team chemistry of the full fledged WI side would be confused, and team work expected to be in tantrums because of this opera; Shakib and Co on the other hand would be heavily boosted by their Test performance and hungry to further initiate their success.

Our all records of ODI's played in the Carribean heavily suggest that we are capable to give a good fight and can clinch the series against the worthiest of the opponents at any day in this condition.

Based on that our boys should not let it go. Keep the flow of success, need to be a bit cautious against the better pace batteries and Ravi Rampal's spin if he is included. Other than that Rasel should do what he can do best. Always keep an eye on Bravo and do not let Chanderpaul to settle down. Even minimum of scores can be defendable and anything around 270 is chaseable.

Fingers crossed.

Good questions. But I think they are going to be considered for the ODI series.

West Indies players end strike
Cricinfo staff
July 22, 2009
Text size: A | A
West Indies' leading players have ended their strike and made themselves available for international duty following the appointment of an arbitrator to resolve their dispute with the West Indies Cricket Board.
A 13-man squad originally picked by the board for the Bangladesh Tests had boycotted the series due to a dispute over contractual issues. The strike forced the selectors to pick a second-string side which lost both Tests against Bangladesh.
