Ok, the analysis begins.

SL is a good team but beatable.
They have weaknesses and here is some.

1. After Jayasuriya gets out the runrate falls. So the openning spell from Mash and Rasel will be critical and we have to pick his wicket. 240 would be a good total to chase.

2. Vass and Murali our nemesis should already be aware of Tamim. However, I think it will be SNafees who will terrorise them. I like Maharoof the bowler. He leaks alot. I am looking forward to that. Hit a few times he will be starting to give wides and no-balls as well.

3. They bat deep. But that can back fire as well. Dilshan, Vass, Maharoof can be at times too eager to hit out Razzak and Rafique and lose the plot. If we field the way we fielded against India they will be in trouble for sure.

10 keys for Bangladesh Win

1. Can Tamim stay beyond 10 overs?
2. Can SN stay beyond 20 overs ?
3. Can Aftab give his ususal + some more. i.e. 40 something quick runs
4. Can Bashar score some runs this time.
5. Can Ash stay upto the end?
6. Can Rasel reproduce the same performance?
7. Can Razzak play his complex role again i.e. bowl effectively in power play & slog overs.
8. Can Rafiq keep his edge for one more game?
9. Can Skaib finish his 10 overs with decent economy rate?
10. Can Bangladesh continue to play their top-class fielding?

Muralidharan On Bangladesh Team

Quote:
He also drew comparisons with Sri Lanka's emerging days to that of the current Bangladesh side, which beat New Zealand in a warm-up game and India by five wickets in their tournament opener. "Bangladesh is no longer a minnow. They have been playing cricket for 7-8 years. They have the experience to rebuild the side," he said. "We began in 1983 and we had won the World Cup in 13 years time. So it means they can also do it in near future."

Muralitharan's views differed slightly on Bangladesh's Test future. "They will struggle because they don't have the bowlers to take wickets," he said. "I don't want to boast but you need the firepower of myself, [Chaminda] Vaas and [Lasith] Malinga. They don't have it. In one-day cricket you don't need firepower. You can bowl line and length and stop the runs and win a match. They are lacking in bowlers but I think their batsmen are okay."

Sri Lanka wary of Bangladesh form
World Cup group B, Trinidad: Sri Lanka v Bangladesh
Match starts 1330 GMT Wednesday

Marvan Atapattu
Teams are now aware that they'll have to play their best cricket to beat so-called minors

Marvan Atapattu

Sri Lanka will not make the mistake of taking Bangladesh lightly as the race to qualify from Group B hots up.

India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh each have two points so far, with the latter expected to beat Bermuda on Sunday.

Therefore, if Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh but lose to India on Friday, all three teams would have four points and run rate would decide qualification.

"Bangladesh can not be written off - they look a very good outfit," said Sri Lanka batsman Marvan Atapattu.

"You've got to give them credit for a fine victory over India. They're a fine side now and have worked hard for it."

Bangladesh have won 18 out of their last 21 matches and continued their fine form with a surprise victory over India in their opening group game - only their second win against their rivals.

And Atapattu insists Sri Lanka's record of 17 wins out of its 18 matches against Bangladesh will count for nothing when the teams meet on Wednesday.

"Teams are now aware that they'll have to play their best cricket to beat so-called minors, you can't just take it easy," he said.

The win against India has put us in a good position to enter the next round

Bangladesh skipper Habibal Bashar

"We've not played against many of these Bangladeshi youngsters, but saw them against India. It seems they don't feel any pressure."

Those sentiments are echoed by Sri Lanka opener Sanath Jayasuriya, who said: "We've done quite well during the past six months, but we'll have to play hard cricket to get past Bangladesh."

Teenagers Tamim Iqbal, Saqibal Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim are the youngsters that will lead Bangladesh's charge against Sri Lanka.

The trio each hit half-centuries in their side's surprise win over India, while paceman Mashrafe Mortaza and spinners Mohammad Rafique and Abdur Razzak also played key roles that day.

And Bangladesh skipper Habibal Bashar will be hoping the way his team came through the pressure-cooker atmosphere of a match against India will stand them in good stead against Sri Lanka, who were hardly tested in their opening win over Bermuda.

"The win against India has put us in a good position to enter the next round," he said.

Our key would be our most dependable batsmen. which are SN, Saqib, Mushfiq. And tamim should fire up also.

Suppose, if we loose (Allah Mup Koruk) with SL, do we still have the chance to go the second round?

We should be happy with what happened with Ind. Now just concentrate on showing a good cricket and planning what will happen with Bermuda whether we can have run rate of 8!!
