prepared an attacking pitch but selected a defensive team. I still cant get my head around why we dont hav Jubair or Abul in place of the 8th batsman. Rajib's injury wouldnt have mattered.

Already screwed up because:
1. Won the toss but choose to bowl. Our strategy in this test should have been to not allow PAK to be on top from the beginning. We could have achieved that only by batting first and putting a big score by batting five sessions. A big score also would have inspired our bowlers. But with the current bowling strength, I cannot fathom how you can hope to keep this Pak batting line up under any pressure, even in a minefield on the first day of the match.
2. Bad team selection. We could have selected Abul instead of Shahid, Shabbir in place of Hom, and Sunny or Jubair in place of Shahadat. Spin has always been our strength in tests.
3. By bowling no balls.
Anyway, like the first test, we will be playing a catching up game this test too. And when are playing catching up, you aren't successful always.

Just checked the score at 308/3. Lost desire to watch Pak batting after the first hour or so knowing full well they'll score 600+ and declare and we'll be playing catch up the whole time. Most ridiculous team selection given the state of the pitch, which Pak bowlers will exploit better with 3 seamers in their team. I doubt we can draw this match. We handed this match to them on a silver platter. We didn't make good aggressive moves, they were foolish.

The name of the thread should be "Dear Mushy, please screw it up."

Shahid has been our best bowler in this test, you want Abul in place of him?

Some people have unconditional love for Abul regardless of whatever he does.

If the plan was to put in the opposition to bat first on a green top, team should have included Shahid, Shahadat and Abul (in place of Hom).

Looks like they might screw it up... Mirpur pitch seems to have grass and spin in it, won't be as simple as Khulna. Mushy's captaincy is a disaster, he always bring the negative mindset back in the team.
My worry is,a huge loss here and then against India in test; will demoralize us before the ODI where we are a real force..

We are well on the way to screw it up with a defensive team selection, defensive decision to bowl first (got scared of Pakistani pacers) and then our top spin bowler having transformed to a pie-chucker over the last 3 tests he has played. Look at how many wickets he has taken from the last test vs. Zim to today.

The most momumental screw up in a LONG time. Poor selections, injured player, no balls, dropped catches, it couldn't get any worse could it?

He bowled leg slide filth today, absolute filth. He has played too much ODI/T20 cricket so his lines, lengths and speeds are all over the place. Wish he went back to county cricket. Hopefully these long spells are a way of getting back some rhythm before the india and SA tests.

^^ Looks like I predicted correctly a day before! An Innings defeat here and then a huge loss against India in test means that we won't be able to compete in ODI which is our strength.
Mushy should step down as captain; it is affecting his batting and keeping as well.

This. But who should be his replacement as Test captain? I could not put my finger on a player who would be as inspirational as Mashrafee.

Shakib, Tamim or even Mahmudullah. There are three drawbacks of Mushy's captaincy:
1) His keeping and batting is suffering as he can't handle 3 responsibilities; which in turn is hurting Bangladesh
2) His field placement, bowling rotation is pathetic, allowing opposition to run away with the match
3) He is not an inspirational captain
The other three players can at least fix the first two issues; even if they are not inspirational like Mashrafe..

Don't worry, this can still be unscrewed
We have five more wickets for tomorrow.
If they can't avoid follow on, I'm sure in second innings all the guys will do well to save the match. This could be a blessing in disguise ... What's the fun if our players aren't tested in such desperate siruations ?? Another easy draw wouldn't have built their charachter and they would learn nothing .. Except for boasting around ...
They have been defused and now if they can save the match from here, they will remain more grounded and be stronger for future series.
Mushy's bowl first was the most damaging, I don't blame the players, I'm sure even best of the teams would struggle to bat after being in the field without success for so long under this heat.
We aren't any way thinking of winning, so nothing to worry, chance of a draw is still very much on .. Let them rest and think over today's batting and come back strong after follow on ... To spend 5 sessions in 2nd innings .. The test will be drawn
