Don't forget Prasanna - batted out of his skin. And Dilshan for some awesome match turning catches.

I love it! Go Srilanka! England was jumping up and down as if they conquered the world after beating India 4-0 at home, and now getting whopped in Sub Continent.
Will we ever see a team as dominant as that Australian team was? There are plenty of good test team right now, but they seem to kick a$$ at home and than complete opposite when playing away test match.

South Africa may be a good contender, but I haven't seen them play in the subcontinent for a while, or I've just noticed (don't follow them much). Australia as well, if they get their shape back together.

From this article here, I would definitely say that South Africa deserve to be #1.

Seeing the Telegraph ... I have come to the conclusion that almost all reporters are the same. Please note almost.
They can be full of adulation or venom.
Bangladesh, as is wont, are much less venomous, but some are just one sided.
I have also noticed that newspapers have a favorite player, and they can do no wrong - and the facts can be bent a bit to make the same facts sing a different song. Dangerous sport this - playing with public opinion. I wonder how many people have taken the ethics course in Journalism in Bangladesh.
I wonder how many journalists have a journalism degree.
But hey there is room for everyone. In the words of the great Rodney King (tongue in cheek)

I agree with CI, Jayawardane never got the respect he deserved for 10,000+ runs and 30+ Test centuries. So what he scored most of them at home? Ponting has 23 home centuries and SL plays a lot of their matches at home. Plus, I don't think I've ever seen them feature in 5 test match series abroad like India, Australia, England do. Thus, fewer opportunities to get into a groove and score lots of runs.

The Switch Issue.
Although, I love watching KP and now Warner play that shot, I think it's a bit unfair for the bowlers. But this new rule makes sense. The batsmen have to wait until the ball is bowled. Then they can do w/e they want. Otherwise, bowlers should be able to switch their hands too.
And then this:
Quote:
Andy Flower, the England team director, immediately went to the match referee's room for clarification over the issue, his second visit of the match following his questioning of a review against Thilan Samaraweera on the first day. The ball after the official warning, Pietersen reverse-swept again and brought up his hundred. He went on to make 151 from 165 balls as England pushed for their first victory of the winter.
|
Remember JS? He got fined for that. Will Flower?
