Mash would be much better should he be able to stop those leg-stump deliveries.
it may be a matter of confidence.
So it's better for him to get back to domestic cricket, gain some confidence and come back hard in the World Cup.

ATM, we may be better off playing Rubel & trying Nazmul in a few games.
it's hard to keep your MoM of the last major win out for so many matches. (He can replace shafiul, too)
Shafiul's economy rate is still a big concern for me....

Its quite clear that Mashrafe is part of our WC plan, and this series is the 'warm up' series for world cup, so it only makes sense if we are trying to sharpen one of our main weapon. If he is bound to be in the XI in WC, then we should give him as many games as possible and let him find himself.

That being said, If I were the selector, I would close my eyes and pick Shafi and Rubel.

'I need time to get my rhythm back' - Mortaza

Give him a break. Plus we can afford to play around with him vs the Zims. But even vs the Zims he is not feeling very confident

I am happy as long as he comes back hard and goes well in WC.

although if Rubel is not 100% fit, then I wouldn't consider risking an injury. I would wait for his 100% recovery.

Rubel should be one of our secret weapons for the world cup

Rubel might come in for Shafi for the 3rd ODI just to show the world how good these two are in sharp contrast to Mash. Then Mash must perform in the 3rd ODI.

Yes. The national team, no matter who happens to be the opposition or what Sid has to say about this, is no place for anyone to get his "form", "match fitness" and "rhythm" back. Then again, I'm actually FROM this country and care about such things.

Bangladesh should bat first if win the toss in 3rd ODI, score a hefty 275 and give Mash a full chance to bowl 10 overs. Only bowling 9 overs in 2 matches doesn't get an injured bowler back anywhere in the world. Be patient, even Ian Pont says Mash is the best bowler in BD side...so what gets?

let's not be so harsh on Mash, let himm play all matches in this series & if Rubel is 100% fit let him replce Shafi. As simple as that.

What that will do? He didn't look fit to bowl even last 9 overs.

BDFlag 3 pace attack

Assalamu walaikum brothers
Play with 3 pacers for the 3rd match mortaza, shafiul, rubel. The spin attack is very good lets give oppurtunity for the pacers to perform their skills and show their talents. The WC is nearing, this would be a good preparation for them to attack.

Inform Mash > inform Rubel + Saiful + rest of the fast bowling deparment we have in our arsenal ... If bringing the old Mash back means giving him all the matches in the Zim series then I say we do it ... Either way we got our spinners to win the matches for us so Mash needs all the practice before the WC.

So Ian Pont is giving full support to Mash and he thinks the he needs time to come back.Pont also believes that he ll come back.I also think Mash will come back. But now question is will it be wise to give chance in next match?
I never liked Rubel as a bowler. But it seems that this guy is improving in recent times. As the 3rd ODI is very important for us for series win i am an favour of Rubel in place of Mash. But Mash should get atleast another match in this series. But i have a feeling that our selectors may take another batsman come bowler(Riyad) is place of Mash to overcome vulnarable batting lineup.

Mash should play all the games. There are no other matches going on where he can regain his form. And Pont, who I'd think knows fast bowling a tiny bit better than us, says Mash is still one of our better fast bowlers. It is not an emotional decision at all rather it's a logical one. If giving Mash a few games means than we can have three fit, in-form pacers for the World Cup then by all means Mash should play.

And I also think for the last two games we should play three pacers. We have to get out of our comfort zone.

They should play 3 pacers after we win the series. This way the pacers gets chance and we take no risk.
Mash won't be dropped.... They will play him all 5 ODIs. It is my guess, that pint will tell Sakib to give mash a second spell, starting spells are always confusing.

Take out Shuvo and put in Rubel for the last two games...Naeem seems to be finding form with the bat so he stays...Shafi has hit form but needs to keep going.

Honestly, if we go to the World Cup unable to bowl 30 overs of pace without expecting to get walloped, we cannot make it to the second round. Spin only is very one-dimensional. And don't forget, our pacers are all injury-prone, so all three pacers should have some match practice and confidence under their belt before the World Cup (and even their back-up(Nazmul?) in the warm-up just b4 WC)

Mashrafee also mentioned that we need to stop relying so heavily on spinners.
