Lot of heavy handling by the police post game, lot of latti and danda barri by the police towards the fans. BBC reporter apparently had a bad experience post game, on twitter:

ভারতকে বলা হয় ক্রিকেট-পাগল দেশ। সে দেশের মানুষ নাকি ক্রিকেটে খায়, ক্রিকেটে নিঃশ্বাস ফেলে। কিন্তু বাংলাদেশের মানুষও যে কম যায় না, তা দেখাল কাল চট্টগ্রাম। সমর্থকদের ভালোবাসার ‘অত্যাচারে’ অতিষ্ঠ হয়ে বাংলাদেশ ও ইংল্যান্ড দল কাল খেলা শেষ হওয়ার পরও তিন ঘণ্টা আটকে ছিল জহুর আহমেদ চৌধুরী স্টেডিয়ামে।

বাংলাদেশের বিজয়ী খেলোয়াড়দের অভিনন্দন জানাতে স্টেডিয়ামের সামনে অপেক্ষায় ছিল হাজারো ক্রিকেটভক্ত। পুলিশ অনেক চেষ্টা করেও তাদের সরাতে না পেরে করে বসে লাঠিপেটা। আহত হয় অনেকে। হিতে হয় বিপরীত। উত্তেজিত জনতা পুলিশের দিকে ইট-পাথর ছুড়ে মারে। শুরু হয় লঙ্কাকাণ্ড। ওদিকে খবর আসে, দুদলের খেলোয়াড়েরা উঠেছেন যে হোটেলে, সেই পেনিনসুলা হোটেলের সামনেও ভিড় করে ছিল হাজার হাজার উৎসাহী সমর্থক। ওই কারণেও বাড়তি সতর্কতা অবলম্বন করতে হয়েছে আইনশৃঙ্খলা রক্ষাকারী বাহিনীকে। এই দুয়ে মিলেই বাংলাদেশ-ইংল্যান্ড দুদলের খেলোয়াড়, ম্যাচ অফিশিয়াল ও সাংবাদিকদের স্টেডিয়ামে থাকতে হয়েছে দীর্ঘ সময়। শেষ পর্যন্ত পরিস্থিতি শান্ত হলে দুদলের বাস ছাড়ে রাত দেড়টায়।

আশা ছিল, ঢাকায় বাংলাদেশ-ওয়েস্ট ইন্ডিজ ম্যাচের পরে ঘটে যাওয়া অপ্রীতিকর ঘটনার রেশ থাকবে না চট্টগ্রামে। কিন্তু শেষ পর্যন্ত তা হলো না। মানুষের আবেগের স্রোত কিংবা ভালোবাসার অত্যাচার ক্রিকেটকে কোথায় নিয়ে যাবে, কে জানে!
