And, the parade continues. However, I will make an exception for Sakib. That is the way he plays. He counter attacks from no.5 and usually his ploy works. There is always inherent risk associated with his type of approach, but when he connects we all jump in joy, so we shouldn't get too angry when he gets out against his own run of play, which is almost always the case. There is value in a counter attacking no.5. We just hope his misfires occur when he is on 150 instead of 80..

Yeah agree re: Shakib. So frustrating, but in the end, that's the ONLY way he would score like 95 times out of 100, by attacking the bowlers. And he's good at that.

But Mushy should show FAR more responsibility than this. Especially a player like him who can stay there and play the long innings. I've given up on Ashraful, needless to say.

It is a very difficult line to draw, if Shakib goes down the track and hits the ball for 4, then we say it is well done, he tries the same, misses it and we question his temperament. The truth is, our batsmen are naturally aggressive and I don' think that is a barrier to success in test cricket. Though you need skill to back up the aggression, which some of our batsmen lack.
I hope players don't force themselves into defensive shells and gets out anyways, but without scoring any runs.

this inability of converting 50s to 100s is killing us too.
if one of the batsman after reaching 40 could bat & reach hundreds that would make it up for other gifted wickets to some extent.

But ya this tour so far has been gifting tour, I want to see BD batsmen getting out to very good deliveries, is it too much to ask?

Mushy's one was playable but it was good ball. So 50 50 on his out. But rest of them are gift.

Didn't watch it, but going by commy on CI, all the wickets were gift? Why? Are they batting with anger? I can guess Tamim got the Jahurul syndrome, getting out worrying about his 50 too much? Shakib being Shakib? But why Mominul and Mushy? I thought they were our to sensible bats?

Mushi's was not a gift, but the rest are. Tamim's was suicidal.. none expect that in even T20

BTW. I don't see any highlight thread. should i create one?

Yeah I don't mind if we build a balanced side of level headed guys + counter-attackers. TIK, Shakib, Nasir are pure counter-attackers. Rahim is definitely the best consolidator. Ash swings both ways depending on his mood, same with Mominul it seems...rather Mominul seems to be an attacker. That just leaves the other opener spot. We could use a consolidator to really lend balance to the other opener position.

After match threads, I see this thread to have most post counts soon enough. This thread may actually become the single largest thread ever in a couple years after recording each UBE dismissal.
