As expected Men's hockey we face SL and Woman Kabaddi we face Nepal. Winner gets the bronze losers goes home emphty handed. In both occations, we beat our counterparts in the priliminary round.
Football, SL beat India in Semi Finals. other Semi finals are between Pak and Nepal. Maldives had six points yet unfortunately could not qualify for the semis. BD (under 24) team managed two draws and were out.
BD missed another Gold for 0.12 seconds in 50 metres Backstroke. Grrrrr!!!
That's the latest update. We suck in everything else. Some atheletic events will be starting from today.

Hokkey
The latest news is Bangladeshi hokkey team has comprehensively beaten by Sri Lankens. Few minitues earlier to the finish of the match, scores shown 2:0 Sri Lanka lead. I do not have final score.
Mean time Bangladeshi Women Kabaddi team will meet Nepal for Bronz and Mens team will meet Sri Lanka for the Bronz.
Also medal tally seems to be updated.
This tomorrowsrilanka.com guys doing a great job, arn't they? They're not the official site for south asian games 2006; also there are limited number of banners displayted in their site....

Yesterday NTV was reporting that we have some hope of getting at least a medal in this event. Congratulation Mahfuz for this achievement.

good news for our athletics after long time. If I can remember correctly I think Shah Alam won 100m sprint gold in 85 SAF games, right? But I guess this is the first ever gold in 110m hurdles.

Mahbubur Rahman won gold in 200 m, and that was the about 12 years back.
We won 100 m gold a number of times. Shah Alam, Bimal and another athlet (sorry I can't recall his name).

lol, look at her shoes. Those are tennis shoes. And she is running I guess 110 meters or 100 meters hurdles. No spikes. Why? Are we so poor that we can't afford proper track shoes for our athletes? Thoes who ran track should no what a difference spike and no spike shoes make. Pathetic management as usual. Anyways, Congrates Ms. Das.
