Just a bloody stupid shot from KP to get out like that, then the nightwatchman gets knocked over last ball of the day and some of the hard work is wasted.

Very good day for England. What'd ya reckon they'll score tomorrow? I'll be happy with a 450.

Wouldn't surprise me if they collapsed.

Some my argue Hoggard did his job as nightwatchman, but if he has blocked the hell off the new ball tomorrow morning for a while, then it could of left Flintoff playing against a softer ball.

I am disapointed with 341-5. We were 333-3 and if it wasn't for KP's needless shot we could of been 350-3 at the close - a much better and more dominant position.

Reckon young bell will get his ton? He could be the one to see off the new ball by farming the strike from Freddie.

What's with the new ball issue? The pitch a good batting track. Just don't flash - That should be England's motto. batting another 70 overs with a run rate 3.5 would make Aus follow on. Cause the Aussie's can only play attacking batting. If England can not get Aus out 2 times in 3 days then they would not deserve to win.

I hope Bell gets his hundred. If Flintoff comes off Bell would be a good foil for him.

Kevin Pieterson got out becoz of all the hype surrounding his batting. Since everyone said that he batted the same aggro way regardless of the situation, he went about trying to justify that claim. From the word go, you could see that he was trying to belt every ball. I think all the success in the past 2 tests has gone to his head. He tried to live up to his billing.

He should have tried to get his eye in. And then make the charge (follow Vaughan's example). And what a brilliant piece of planning by Ponting and Lee. They had Hodge in deep square leg exactly for that sort of stroke. Good and intelligent bowling from Lee.

Bell looks like a true test player. he has the temperament to last as long as it takes. Boycott was all praise about Bell for the way he occupied the crease and rode out the initial storm of Mcgrath and Warne.

Aussies are on the rocks. Follow on!! maybe..who knows. All depends on Katich-Martyn partnership. There is something missing about the Aussie batsman this series. The invincible aura is gone. Or, at least missing. Credit must go to the English bowlers.

BTW, Billy bowden is a joke. And I am not talking about his extra-curricular carricatures.

32.1 Flintoff to Katich, OUT: wicket first ball after drinks!! what a start for England! Flintoff, delivers a good length delivery, angling into Katich, Katich misjudges the line and the length, and shoulders arms, only to see the ball richochet into the stumps

What a Ball!!!!

Aussies reeling at 129-5

35.3 Giles to Martyn, OUT: that's a ripper! pitched outside the leg
stump and turning across the right-hander, Martyn plays down the
wrong line and the off stump is pegged back, Giles continues to
impress, Australia five down and looking straight down the barrel!

That was a beauty, got the ball to turn across sharply and Martyn was clueless there.

the ball loops up in the air, Bell dives in an effort to catch it, can only get finger tips to it! Lucky reprive for Adam Gilchrist

36.6 Flintoff to Gilchrist, no run, another drop!!we've seen plenty of catches being put down in this match, have England's fielders too caught the bug now? Gilchrist drives the ball uppishly through cover, Pietersen at short covers dives to his right but cant hold onto it

DROPPED AGAIN!!!! oh dear oh dear

48.1 SP Jones to Gilchrist, OUT: full and outside the off, Gilchrist has a nervous poke and the outside edge goes straight to the keeper. caught Jones b Jones and that is an inspired bowling change!

there goes Gili... 190-6
