I thought India used to be Murali's nemesis. It turns out, Australia is way ahead.

At lunch in Kandy, Murali has 2 more prey in his amusing number of 706 in test wickets, getting closer!!
Pietersen is 707, one to equalize.

Murali got Ravi Bopara thereby equalling Shane Warne's tally

HAPW Jayawardene b Muralitharan | 8 | | 22 | 0 | 0 | 36.36 |
Bopara = 708
So will it be Prior or Collingwood - both are good players of spin?

59.4 | Fernando to Prior, no run, turned to mid-on | There's been a bit of a sweepstake among the media as to who will be Murali's 709th victim. The hot money has been on Matt Prior, and it's looking a fairly decent bet at the moment... | 59.3 | Fernando to Collingwood, 1 run, quicker one, Collingwood's a bit late on it - smudging it through midwicket |
Thats from cricinfo - wanna bet?

Its drizzling on Asgariya.
And Fernando gets Prior! Tail is exposed in Kandy.

62.6 | Muralitharan to Sidebottom, no run, outside leg stump, a swish to leg but he misses, the ball loops up to the inevitable yells of "catch it" but it drops in front of the keeper's dive. It didn;t hit anything anyway ... |
Looks like sandpiper has internal connection with Fernando

Yes I do
Rain stopped play - 2.25pm "God Save The Queen" rings out as the clouds get lower ... the umpires have a brief word and decide enough is enough and gesture to the players that they should head off. They stay out in the middle as the tarpaulins are heaved on. You suspect that the weather is fairly set, so we might do well to get any more play.
