This match should be a decent test for our cricketers as to how far we have come. Anything other than a win would be quite disappointing

National flower: Flame lily
National animal: Sable
National emblem: Zimbabwe bird.
The Zimbabwe bird used to be the logo of the cricket team / Zimbabwe Cricket Union, but they ditched it 3-4 years ago. The new logo just features the head of the bird, along with stylised ball, stumps and boundary line.

I read somewhere the current logo was came from the head of the wife of a Zimbabwe cricket boss. Is it true?

Do not under estimate Zimbabwe....or you may have another canada on your hands or a pakistan/ireland scenario. To be honest The sides are pretty evenly matched, remember zimbabwe dropped out of the test arena on their own accord...

Apparently so - designed by the wife of Peter Chingoka, the board chairman. There was quite a fuss at the time over how much she was paid to do it.

A case of jumping before we were pushed, I suspect - the side at the time was very inexperienced. Our current side would be able to give Bangladesh a run for their money in a Test match at the moment, but we need the ICC to okay our return first. Would have been nice to have an 'unofficial' Test or two on this tour just to gauge where the two sides stand, but sadly not...
