It shows he had ability. You don't see players hitting triple centuries every day. He just couldn't translate that ability to the international level.

Players like Roqibul should focus on playing test matches as players like him can't make inroads to BD odi and t20 team at the moment when there are better players than him.

His technique isn't that bad but he just lost it all it seems somewhere down the line after joining the national team.

i agree that even u have an one-dimensional attack and all have quality then there is no problem. the WI had this 4-5 pacers and all were quality. variation off course helps but you need quality variation too.

so all we need is to produce 5 quality bowlers ........

Instead of Nur(or Noor) I will have Shabbir. Anytime.
My gut feeling says if Shabbir plays down at number 7 or 8 ...and BD's luck going down in a game... this guy has the ability to turn that around with the bat, whereas.. I've seen Nur in BPL, not very effective with the ball...nor with the bat.

(wonder if Ashraful focused and stuck with his leg-spin from the beginning, he probably would've had much better chance of staying in the team as a bowling all-rounder who bats low!)

give Noor Hossain some time. He is very very young in years and had an impressive A team tour against England Lions. a couple of T20 matches don't prove anything.

Maybe it is time, maybe it is time we only use two pacers and give Arafat Sunny a go.(Two pacers is a good idea when you have Rubel, Nazmul(that's like 60% of our pace attack ) injured! Mashrafee is very injury prone too, I got scared a couple of moments in Asia cup.

Big time problems with our pace attack:
either
*Injury Prone (Naz, Mash, Rubel Trio)
*Very very inexperienced/young in years(Abul Hasan, Kamrul, Alauddin Babu)

That's why Farhad Reza is the answer. He is not that bad...(But I think for now he is only a temporary solution, not permanent! well, we shall see...)

I wish if we could have pace bowling academy in Bangladesh.

yeah but also don't forget one pace bowler isn't always the same as another....that's why RSA are soo good atm. they have 4 real quality pacers but they all offer something different.

steyn offers consistency, control, line and length, pace and swing.

philander offers accuracy, consistency, some pace, bit of bounce.

morkel offers sharp and big bounce, pace, and a good line

de lange offers explosive and unexpected pace, he's the raw one of the bunch and he might be a bit inconsistent but that unpredictability probably helps them get wickets out of the blue because batsmen aren't always expecting that amazing ball when it does come.

besides WI were privilaged with an amazing pace bowling generation (or 2) similar to australia's batting talent over the last 15 or so years. that doesn't come along very often for a team.

plus don't forget BD pacers don't bowl quite as quick as the average international bowler, and once you because more of a 125kph bowler it becomes much harder to control run rate and take wickets and that's where most of BD's pacers sit atm, the ones bowling quicker tend to sacrifice their accuracy and control which is why they aren't as effective as the average international bowler.

but yes we need at least 4 quality bowlers, decent back-ups as well. but with mash fit, nazmul bowling solidly, rubel's improvement and shakib we are close to having 4 really solid bowlers and nasir i'm telling you all has some top quality off spinning talent.

farhad isn't that great, at least not anymore and he never scores runs either so he's basically a specialist bowler nowadays. which is why i'd prefer al-amin being given a chance. otherwise go with youngsters like alauddin babu who is taking lots of domestic wickets and can score runs or abul who has the pace. ziaur could be an option but only if his bowling is good enough.

btw i reckon noor is a really good prospect.

Didn't know about this match! Thanks Boss for sharing.

Good to see Anamul scoring runs. This lad will surely go a long way.
