Their opener - Asfar Khan - APPARENTLY 18 years and 321 days. Haven't even bothered checking the other players as the very first is under 19.

You should have checked both the openers

He asked for just one, hence it wasn't necessary.

How about lengthening it? ICC and ACC now require medical tests for age verification. While not infallible it has stopped the outright cheating like the ones we did during the Dana cup in the 80s in football. Shall I make it 10 months?
Can you not acknowledge they were better?

Asif Ahmed's captaincy can also come into question here - he kept using Noor Hossain even after it was clear that he's the most expensive bowler. Naeem Islam jnr and Al-Amin had economy rates below 4 FOR GOD'S SAKE. I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS TEAM!
After all the great things I've heard about Noor Hossain, I have serious doubt over his reputation - surely, such a "skilled" bowler who is ABOVE 19 YEARS OF AGE, with first-class experience, would not struggle so badly against Afghanistan. Pathetic stuff.

All hyped up talents ... None should utter the names of any of these players in next 5-8 years time for national side... Noor Hossain is again super hyped.....I'm hearing he is even ready for national team... Crazy assessment capacity .... Of those say such things...he isn't even ready for U19

Typical reactions from us, the fans. Praising them to the level of gods and then bashing them up like slaves.

Chill guys, this sort of things happen at the U19 level... We beat England U19 while we were associates and Eng U19 were also the champions that year. That U19 team included Rokon, Durjoy and Co...
This really proves nothing other than the fact that Afghanistan has more young talent in its stock than we do..... That i always believed in anyways since they are usually stronger individuals and given the recent success, cricket has the same popularity in Afghanistan as in Bangladesh

Well done Afganistan. Well deserved victory.
They have opened our eyes. They have showed us where we stand now. We should do ourselves a favor. We should stop over hyping players after one or two good shows in one domestic season. Have the players perform consistently in domestic and in tours like this for 2-3 years before considering him for the national team.

We usually have decent run-ups to the world cup and falter. Maybe a not-so-decent run up could be good news?
Hows that for logic?

Not sure about percentages...but cricket is huge in Afghanistan, direct result of hundreds of thousands Afghan refugees in Pakistani camps over the decades.
But I don't think it is anywhere close to how popular it is in Bangladesh now.

240 was never a strong total, Afghanistant has 4 players who are above 20 years old, they play in Pakistan T20 etc. Asif was a moron captain, Hayder was injured etc..... doesnt matter, we lost. When did we become an invincible team that Zimbabwe, Ireland, Netherlands or Afghanistan can't beat us? Heck Afghanistan U19 has been hard training for 3 months, have Geoff Lawson as their coach. I am glad that the war torn country has something to cheer about..We congratulate the winners and for our young player, they now know not to be complacent, play with 'professional mindset' and do what needs to be done the World Cup.

Ppl r over reacting. Before you say anything, pls have a look at the team management. We don't even know who is our coach. Forget the rest.

Should be blessing in disguise. Now we need a much more thinking captain for the upcoming WC. Also need to work on the correct team combination. At U19 level, every now and then there comes a batch less talented than most of the previous batches.

The batch with Mithun Ali the captain was probably the worst... but there was one gem in that batch.... Nasir Hossain...
I would be content if we can find one major talent from this batch too... the team is secondary at this level...
