Yeah it's just one match but that actually gives you the indication of sort of form he is in. Look at his bowling in the NCL, he was worst among all the spinners played those innings. He couldn't manage to get more than 2 wickets there, even those 2 wickets must have been a gift from the batsmen and see he was the same with the ball in the real match. Ineffective and expensive at times. So I'm not hopeful about his batting either as he showed the glimpse of what sort of mindset he is in. So don't expect too much from him. Let's just pray and hope that he will help us to avoid the follow on first. Porerta pore dekha jabe. I hope he plays session by session and just be patient to survive. I will be more than happy if he survives till lunch break, don't care whether he scores a 100 or not.

did Shak ever perform in NCL, DPL? He plays with passion in international matches. No need to worry about what he did in NCL.. That's how he has been over the years. He'll do just fine tomorrow Inshallah

I am sorry to say that I am not happy that Shakib is not doing himself a favor and not maintaining his standard. Probably he is going through a rough patch and form. But he should be back to justify his true class and we all hope he can start doing it from tomorrow. May Allmighty help him accomplish that and also save us.

I sometimes wonder how the not out batsmen at stumps spend the evening and night. They must be planning so many things while trying to sleep. But I don't think pressure gets to Shakib.

In the DPL season before the Asia Cup. Didn't Mushy and Mahmudullah average a 50 while Shakib averaged a 20? And didn't Jahurul average much higher then Tamim. So Asia Cup time comes and what happened? Both Shakib and Tamim scored 4 50's and Mushy, Mahmudullah, and Jahurul played well once but then failed big time the other times. Domestic cricket is not international cricket. So we shouldn't look too much in to the domestic statistic. They are not a very good indicator of a player's form.

So who were saying SAkib wont make runs?
Some of u need to religiously accept one fact that just because he didn't get runs from some freakin IPL or CLT20 or some NCL has absolutely nothing to do to his international form.
If u don't know/or accept it , it's high time u do.

Still this 50 means nothing. Let him score big and avoid the follow on first then we will talk
BTW Shakib was extremely lucky to get that 50

So was Sachin getting his 50+ centuries.
Add Lara, Sobers, heck Bradman. Every one gets a life or two before they score big.

He is always our best performer. We don't need want from him. He automatically delivers when we need. He wasn't a good performer in NCL but in international matches he always shows his ability.

Simply can't keep him out of the game. That's why there's only one Shakib Al Awesome!

However I am still not impressed as that was a rather dodgy 50 in the flattest of Tracks which clearly shows that he is out of form. Hope his luck holds up for his sake and ours.

Shakib has reached to 80 that means we are going to celebrate a century very soon. Hope all the best.

We don't have to be impressed as long as he puts BD in a position to at least draw the match, he's done his job.
His batting could've been dodgy but that was just for an over or so....he didn't consistently get beaten or get lives throughout his inning like Tamim did....in terms of number of balls that he faced, being dodgy for 6-7 balls is quite acceptable.

It was still a good score and a good innings if you put it in context, his 89 prolonged our batting innings by quite a lot and let us bat out another day (that is if the rest don't have a complete brainfart). Much better than Tamim's innings in the fact that he at least stalled the WI for 3 sessions. We don't usually have the temperament nor the patience to bat for many sessions.

He doesn't like sitting on nervous nineties for long...that's the reason he tried to finish it off quickly with boundaries.....bt should have taken a breather before taking off...hurried too much.. well played ... Good partnership...

His innings today reminded me of his debut innings for Worcestershire when he was playing like today and got out for 91.
