To me..Gayle took the chance of the lousy batting situation by the Burners. He was clever and selfish. He is better today but he had the opportunity to be the best today.

Gayle and Mahmood should have been jointly MoM.

This is the problem of fantasy cricket. When I used to participate, I tend to concentrate more on this rather than concentrating on game. Never mind, enjoy :-)

Naah don't blame him. He can only do so much. The spinners never came. Plus the capitano was missing in action. I thought ICONS and Captains lead from the front.
Congrats Azhar.

What I noticed from this match is that BD players have long longgggg way to go. These paki rejects and wi players are dominating this tournement. No initiative is being taken by the locals

Vhaya why do you think he was selfish. He tried his best...he played to win the game...he scored more than 50% of the run (116 my God) at 190 SR. I think Hodge, Shehzad, SN could've done something about it. Why the heck is SN an icon player and the captain ^1million (:facepalm to the power of a million)
-------------------
btw, Congrats to DG. Mashrafe was a clever captain and an awesome pacer today. He got 2 wickets = 40 pts. for me
Good job Mithun, Babu, Pollard, Kabir, Yasir, Mahmood!

Gayle, selfish? Bit harsh that...it wasn't like he ambled his way to a hundred. I mean he scored 71 out of a 100 run partnership at one stage.
The aunty at the end was hilarious - not sure she's ever prayed that hard for herself

SN is hunkering down..the way Habibul Bashar did in KKK. Shame on SN - where is your responsibility as a captain!
Ash has ourperformed him.

I feel Barishal lost it from the 14/15th over. It was always going to be a tough chase but they (well basically Gayle) were doing well and in contention but after Gayle got his Century they should have upped the pace from the other (non-Gayle) batsmen.
Dhaka were bowling well and the spinners were not bowling so Gayle wasn't able to get the s as before. When there aren't many balls left it is too expensive to try and take singles to get Gayle on strike. Both batsmen should have been looking to hit boundaries or atleast turn the singles into twos. They had plenty of wickets in hand so cameos such as Kabir Ali's 15 of 9 balls would have done the job. Alauddin Babu, Shuvo and particularly the icon player Nafees should all be capable of doing this.
Instead they opted to choose the plan of Mithun eating balls to get Gayle on strike and put all the pressure on Gayle to hit s, even when it was evident that he wasn't able to as fluently as before.
Forgot to mention it was excellent bowling and captaincy from Mashrafe.

Well Barisal lost but Gayle won again... One thing for sure, people are now having a favorable opinion of this player ( compared to after the World Cup event when he twitted).
I think Barisal will have a stiff tournament when Gayle leaves this week. He has soley been pulling the team and Shehzad assisting as well but if those two are out, there are no other players who can contribute much.. Versus teams like Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna as a strong middle order..
Marshrafee is again in form and probably is in best physique I have seen in years. He is bowling fast, leading from front and back in rythm again. All good signs before the Asia Cup, Pakistan tour.... Atleast BPL has revived Mashrafee the leading bowler!!
