It's important for awareness but newspaper & magazines are better options.
yes true. But, there is a big percentage in Bangladesh who can't read and write.

A lot of the condom ads are not aimed at illiterate people. It's for high-class people who like to indulge in weird fetishes as shown in the ad where the husband pretends to be a rapist and chases his wife around before eventually using U & Me condom for sexy time.

I think Zeeshan bhai has done it again. I can truly see this thread grow to 10 or 12 pages to compete with Orphy's Funny Youtube Video thread.

You can't really count that one as a "BD" commercial.

I don't like many of our typical TVC. still too much noisy, colourful, too lengthy. some big companies manipulating this tvc industry with money. now most of the time we're bound to watch only their circus as they're fighting with other similar companies to catch eyes of viewers. almost every single month almost same style visualization...same product. only gp has been produced little bit funny, watchful tvc. others r trying to copy bolywood dance or drama. be it farooki or amitav. and some trying to draw emotional sentimental thing in tvc. same thing happening in daily newspapers. huge boring one whole important page weird advertisement.

Good bold statement jewel bhai. I wanted to say something like that but then I backed away for sounding politically incorrect. Not every damn ad need to have this "amar sonar bangla" theme. And as much tragedy has occurred in Liberation War, if every ad starts to instill this theme then there are risks of making them sappy. Usage of war theme should only be done to drive home some powerful message. And before you start bashing me, let me just say same thing happens in Hollywood where now people would be critiquing for making holocaust movies just to get oscar nod. And also think about the black community? Do you want every hip hop videos they make to have with a "black element" to it?? Street life of Bronx, MLK, etc? That's why new groups like Black Eyed Peas have their own genre of futuristic element because at the end of the day what defines an individual is their own unique transcendece of any "isms."

I LOVE that Banglalink ad. That was sheer genius. But Amitabh Reza may fall in the trap of being typecasted into same category of ads which will soon make him melodramatic. One should actually try to watch international ads instead of trying to tango toe to toe with bollywoodesque ads thinking they are our true savior. A good start is adsoftheworld.com which has a huge archive.

My personally...I am still waiting to see futuristic or abstract ads or say allusion to famous arts or say short witty ones like e*trade where they show some guys just playing an accordion and some monkeys dancing with the punchline: We just wasted 2(?) million dollars, what are you doing with your money?

Thanks for going against the crowd magic da. We still have a long way to go before we make quality Cannes worthy ads. Yup, I am being a sore critic here but it's only because I want to see them improve even way more breaking all boundaries and creating their own niche instead of just being typecasted.

As a young, nerdy philatelist I always loved our stamps. Not sure why we cannot extend that level of creativity and art work to commercials. I guess this is what I tried to project in my previous post.

yeah but you stole my idea so techinically it is still me. Many of these ads were in my thread as well. Only diff between this and my thread is the title. but concept is the same. I mentioned "beauty " maybe one thing to u (ie condom ads, patriotic jingle) but diff for someone else (ie funny ads, beautiful models etc)

I made a favourite 'favourite commercials' thread a long time ago so the idea is not all that fresh.

After watching the nice banglalink ad posted earlier in this thread, it almost feels WRONG watching this. Trying to figure out if this came out of Amitabh Reza as well. Maybe its just me who thinks this is horribly done and a far stretched over done version of their original desh ad. Its just so bollywoody... but I bet its all hit back home...

usually all Banglalink ads are made by A.Reza.
and looking at the models & the genre I think it's Reza too.
Believe me,no 1 in my family liked this ad,it was as u said too bollywoody.
And,their is another controversial work by A.Reza i guess,"desh desh desh Banglalink desh" which was copied from an Ind ad Telenor.
Thgh I'm not certain abt this info.

too much presence of ORANGE color in banglalink ad makes of sick. that simply proves how KHET they are in case of making ad. now stupid Aktel(Woops!....Robi Chowdhury) started to portray red as their brand color or whatever using the color in every ad. ~_-

Telenor is a corporation based in norway, they own the majority stocks of Grameen Phone from the very beginning.

Telenor owns the 62% share of GP. That is why.
