I suggest we have lunch at that pakistani restaurant in bangla town, i forgot the full name, Lahore Tikka house(maybe). The food is great and I am sure most people will like it. Asif why the repulsive attitude towards lunch from Bangla town? Or if we are eating downtown then we can go to salad king near Ryerson uni, IMHO that is one of the best places for thai food. Whatever the plan I will be in Toronto for boxing day sale so it would be great if the get together was around at that time. Would it be ok to bring in guests who are not members of BC ? Just clarifying in case a friend tags along with me.

Well, I was thinking more about going out somewhere - Niagra or Camping. This summer we friends camped in Algonquin National Park, it was damn fun, we had to set out the fire, get dead trees and branches for the fire, we swum in the lake although I don't know how to swim khekz, cooked food and slept in tent. Amazing experience, it was all about survival hehe.
BTW we can always have cricket in summer. I am not in touch with cricket after getting out of high school, so for the last 3-4 years I had very little cricket.

Lahori Tikka is in Gerrad - Indian Town. Makkah is the only decent restaurant in Bangla Town, the food is good.
Sure, you are most welcome to bring in anyone. The more the merrier. So, from when you gonna be around Toronto and how long? I will be doing some shopping in Boxing day and I am sure others will too. If you are in just in the boxing day then it will be a tight call. Well, Peterborough is not too far from Bangla town, may be an hour drive. You can always catch us.

Well I will be in toronto for boxing day so if the get together is around that time then I would stay back for a couple more days in toronto before coming back to Pdot. As soon as you guys decide on a date, time and venue I am in. I am pretty much doing nothing this break. I will be busy applying for jobs but other than that I am free during the break.

Great! So Shahriyar is in. Boxing day is on 26th. Hmmm...So how about Thursday, Dec 28th? Everyone plz confirm your availability on 28th.
BTW once I return to Toronto, I will call up All Star Bowling and find out if they would be open around this time. Or else we already have the other back up plan.

yeah i was thinking of something fun too, and then thought of skiing, since it's winter. but then we'd have to travel out of toronto, but i guess the objective is to keep things within toronto.
i'm going skiing before that anyways, but wouldn't mind a repeat.
PS: 28th sounds great.

Wowww...we've got some great response. The first thing I had on my mind when I asked Asif about it was, what if nobody replies.
So far, 28th would be great for me. Since I work at UofT, downtown will be easier for me to access...say by 1:00 i should be there. If it's Makkah or Lahore Tikka, then it'll take about an hour or so longer. IMO, Salad King is GREAT...we can have a little competition with the chilli scale in the menu there (they put chilli based on the scale you ask...highest is scale 20, and we can expect to see you running with a jet engine stuck on your back). I don't mind bowling - just that I haven't done it before! But sure, we're the TIGERS
Summer plan: Cricket match sounds great. I know the president of BanglaCricketClub (BCC) here, and he might be able to set something up if they've got chances. Otherwise, we can play at YorkU with the guys whose names I long forgot.
Asif, thanks bro. You know Bangali nature...bhai na dakle rastar chipay giya mair khaite hoy

Also, we could ask our protibeshi New Yorkans and others who could possibly make it to TO. If people from Montreal, Ottawa, Edmonton, Winnipeg (I know one of you live there), or even BC can make it, that'll be awsum.
Guys, if you are here at that time (for vacation or any other reason), please feel free to come. It's gonna be fun. Once we organize something, I can leave my cell number here for last minute change notifications.

Okey, digging up this took me almost 20 mins going through the 3055 members list. Now, can someone please send a nice U2U to all these members about the Get together and ask them to visit this thread?
I do not expect People far away from Toronto, say Vancouver, Montreal, or Yellowknife people to make it. Nevertheless, since they are all active members we should send them a U2U and make them aware of what's happening. May be in future they would be able join us and next time the venue may not be Toronto itself - who knows.

Bhai if you want we will all come with our nameplates hanging from our neck. I doubt if anyone knows anyone personally or by face. I guess once the venue and time is fixed along with the people attending for sure, we can find out a way to recognize each other when we meet.

P.S. Can someone from Toronto call All Star Bowling and ask them if they would be open on 28th? Also plz do ask them their working hours. Thanks a lot!

Hmm... sounds like good gathering and good food....
Kind of off-topic, but can anyone tell me what will be the weather during Dec 22 to Dec 26 in Toronto? Are you guys expecting 2 foot of snow or something like that? Is it a good Idea to drive to Toronto for someone who is not used to that much of cold whether?
