Although maybe I'm being charitable.

Shakib Al Hasan: Runs: 715, Ave: 29.79,HS: 96*, 50s: 4,100s: 0,Wkt: 48, Ave: 28.27, Str: 62.3, B/B: 7/36, 5/I: 5, 10/M: 0

Jacques Kallis: Runs: 548, Ave: 24.9, HS: 101, 50s: 2, 100s: 1,Wkt: 13, Ave: 38.3, Str: 95.2, B/B: 3/29, 5/I: 0, 10/M: 0

Garfield Sobers: Runs: 672, Ave: 30.54, HS: 66, 50s: 3, 100s: 0, Wkt: 17, Ave: 41.05, Str: 107.4, B/B: 4/75, 5/I: 0, 10/M: 0

Imran Khan: Runs: 458, Ave: 20.81, HS: 59, 50s: 1, 100s: 0,Wkt: 54, Ave: 34.72, Str: 71.4, B/B: 6/63, 5/I: 3, 10/M: 1

Ian Botham: Runs: 622, Ave: 36.58, HS: 108, 50s: 1, 100s: 3, Wkt: 76, Ave: 18.46, Str: 43.6, B/B: 8/34, 5/I: 8, 10/M: 1

Kapil Dev: Runs: 616, Ave: 36.23, HS: 126*, 50s: 4, 100s: 1, Wkt: 43, Ave: 37.37, Str: 67.1, B/B: 5/146, 5/I: 1, 10/M: 0

Richard Hadlee:Runs: 448, Ave: 21.33, HS: 87, 50s: 1, 100s: 0, Wkt: 50, Ave: 34.54, Str: 58.6, B/B: 7/23, 5/I: 2, 10/M: 1

He's scored more runs than every single player on that list!

His batting average compares favourably to all bar Sobers, Botham and Dev.

He's taken more wickets than everyone other than Khan, Botham and Hadlee.

His bowling average is better than every single player other than Botham.

His bowling strike rate is better than every single player other than Botham and Hadlee.

Looks like our wonderkid doesn't compare too badly at all, does he?
You should replace S. Rajesh at cricinfo

Excellent work. Thank you Arito ...

I hope Shakib Al Hasan continues to improve, sustain his early success, and become the first of many others to make their mark at the highest level ...

Great work, Aritro!

This is what I wrote in the WI Match Thread:

If Shakib continues to bowl like this and tightens up his batting a bit he will go down as a legend of cricket. The amount of control he showed with his bowling at such an young age (22) is almost unprecedented. Amazing that he landed balls after ball on the midlle or leg and then turning it to off almost at wills. Hitting the right length relentlessly. And every now and then the quicker arm balls thrown in like a true spin great. I know I'm giving him the large here but, all th

It takes away the sleep of some Sakib bashers

Stats do mean a lot but twisting them for your gain is quite childish IMO.

All I said was comparing a rookie with past heroes at the earliest stage of his career is quite ludicrous. Nothing against Shakib
i think with his these 14 match test career he has already became the legend of BD cricket. and of course his name will be written forever in the history cricket. Bangladesh's 1st ever whitwash in test which is also 1st ever outside of home. and in your earlier posts you've compared about Ash & Sakib. but you also have to see the other side of the coin as well. Ash always play good after a long long time(sometime for more than 1 year). but here we can see the difference between Ash & Sakib. Sakib did strugle for a bit after his last come back in the international arena for his education & injury. but if you kept those couple months aside and see his career that his performances got consistency. Sakib did strugle in the early stage of his test career. but started to do better after his 5/6 tests. you can see the record. his last 8/9 tests show how did he improve his performances in test. and he is good for sure. otherwise he wouldn't be NO.1 ODI all-rounder of ICC / NO.2 ODI bowler of ICC / NO.4 TEST all-rounder of ICC and soon enough for his last 100, i think he'll be on the top 10 list of ODI batsmen as well. it also shows that he is good in both format of the game. i am not overestimating, just saying that he is not perfoming once in a while. almost in every match he does good with bat or ball or both. you said about Sreesanth, actually he did good in his 1st 4/5 matches in both test & ODI. after that he lost his track. but Sakib did good in every 2nd/3rd match if he didn't perform in one match.
And another thing is, just tell me that how many times you have seen any cricketer on the top 5 list of ICC in 3 different categories??(may be he will come as well in ODI batting ranking!!!)
