I think it is time to bring back Nafis Iqbal. Solid batsman with techniques.

Default Can we bring Javed back?

I voted for Javed Omar because I want to see our team play 50 overs. They will really learn something by playing all the overs. Now days the game ends on 27th and 30th over. For most of the people the game is over when Ashraful is out. I believe one of the reasons why our team went close to scoring 220,230 or 240 earlier has to do with batsmen occupying crease and playing 50 overs. As a result, they ended up scoring runs. But who can occupy beside Tamim now days? If we look at the Natwest series back in 2005 then we will be able to see that Javed and Ash did occupy the crease for long and we eventually crossed two hundred runs every gave.

The Zimbabwe series was disaster for him but he played well most of other series. He still managed to have 26 averages with all those bad performance with Zimbabwe. Its not something you can brag about but it is still better than Ashraful who also plays in the similar strike rate now days.

Year 2007, this is the year he started to make his strike rate little better. We saw him scoring 80 runs against India with 68 striking rate.

I know he is not the “talented” player we have or the technically efficient (the so called technically efficient players are scoring ducks) but he has contributed well enough to be recalled into the squad. If we are going to argue about strike rate then we should look at the strike rate of our “talented” players. They don't have exciting striking rate either. I don’t know if its going to be possible for him to comeback because BCB did not extend his contract earlier this year but if they recall him then it will be good for our team. If we find someone better then Javed then we can try that new player but for the moment I think we should bring him back.

well he's older (28) so he should be pretty mature when it comes to playing an innings, he's played a lot of domestic cricket (at least compared to most who are currently in the national team) and he's got a pretty good FC average (39.00). he's not considered to be one of the "talents" but most of the "talents" aren't performing so imo it doesn't hurt to try a player like ehsnaul haque. but apparently he's retired now, so don't know how likely he is to get a call-up.

If he is retired then i don't think BCB will call him because they are too lazy and don't really care. They too would probably want to see Aftab open with Tamim. I know for sure, they are not great fan of players who works hard but lacks "talent". They would prefer a player who score 16 runs from 10 balls but not a player who would score 16 runs from 25-30 balls. What is good for Bangladesh is clear. The high striking rate players don't stay on crease and we have seen too many of them. Its time BCB change their mindset and focus on players who lacks the talent but can get runs. If we were to give all these years that we wasted to those not "talented" players by now they could have become talented.
