Do Aus-Pak play each other before we face Aus? In that case, if Pak loses to Aus, it will be even harder for us to beat them!

No, we play Pak on May 1st and they play Aus the next day. So there's a small chance we may catch them off-guard.

Bangladesh is Pakistan's #1 bunny in cricket. We've never even come close in recent contests. Frankly, I think the contests should be much, much closer. However, these Pakistanis walk out there like invincibles against us, whereas they play to lose from the word go against bigger teams. I'm pretty sure it's our players' mentality against Pakistani teams that are screwing us over. We need to treat them as a potential easy picking, in any format.

We beat West Indies last T20 world cup after they had already lost to South Africa. I don't think the "catch them off guard by chance" factor will have much of an impact for anyone in this format.

In the first T20 world cup Zim caught Aus off guard. But I don't think that would happen anymore, because these teams take T20 way way way more seriously than our players do.

its a 3 hour boom boom game, hardly anything other than some good hitting matters in this format. People can come straight off a 14 hour flight, and still can play and win it.
So, catching them off guard might not work, but then again..... if we are to beat world T20 champions, we need as much hypothetical help as we can.

Kapali Can replace Either aftab, naeem, ashraful, shuvo, razzaq or riad. But I prefer to keep riad because he can adapt any format quickly.

Seems that Alok may get a chance now to go to the WI> I doubt that Tamim can recover in 5 days, those guys are dreaming, it will take about 2 weeks for him to heal a bit.

You guys here should accept the fact that your team is in a tough spot playing against 2 top teams who have some powerful players who knows how to play 20/20 cricket. BD has no inkling of it, either they play like ODIs or Test matches.
all we hope for is that they put up a spirited attempt. I dont think this time Ireland will progress.

It would be great to see Mushy batting against that giant.
I personally had a great experience to see Javed Omar scored a boundary against Ambrose at BNS, Dhaka. That was priceless. ![big grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

God thanks that this guy was just left out at the last moment from the Pakistan team for upcoming T20 wc, although he was probable replacement for Gul. Look at his height and pace, his action look so much like Wasim Akram. Another good find for Pakistan team.

Aussies will slip. We almost had them in the warm ups the last time. And they did play with all their seniors.

Quite a few of the aussie players are playing in the IPL, so they do have match practise, and the rest of the players have been participating in a training session in Brisbane. What has the National team of BD been doing? Playing the NCL 20/20? where the nat. players have not gelled as a team.
The NCL started too late, should have been finished by the 16th april, then the boys could have had a short training camp before they left. Now, if they do not arrive in Barbados by the 26th, they cannot play their warm up games.

Bangladesh target Pakistan upset

Bangladesh target Pakistan upset
Bangladesh's captain and coach, Shakib Al Hasan and Jamie Siddons, are targeting a victory against Pakistan in their opening game of the ICC World Twenty20 on May 1.
"I think there is a possibility for us to beat Pakistan because, at the moment, Pakistan cricket is unsettled with different kinds of crisis and injury problems," Shakib said in Mirpur, prior to the team's departure. "So we have to do something in the first match if we want to play the second round, but that doesn't mean we play bad cricket against other group opponents Australia."
Siddons also felt Pakistan was Bangladesh's best chance but said they would have to play sharp cricket nonetheless. "Both Pakistan and Australia are tough opponents but realistically we have a chance against Pakistan but in that case we need to play well," he said. "The preparation is good and I must say it was much better than the last occasion. The players got the opportunity to play two tournaments - PCL and NCL - recently, which is really good. Some players missed out on runs but I think the wicket was low and slow. But definitely the boys will get consistent pace while playing in Barbados."
Bangladesh had a poor World Twenty20 in England in 2009, getting eliminated in the first round after losing group matches to India and Ireland. Shakib, however, was also pleased with his team's preparation this time. "Nothing could have been better than playing matches before any tournament. I think our preparation is good this time and most importantly we have been playing good cricket for last few months and hope it will continue in West Indies and as well as in the England tour."
