If someone hasn't pointed this out already, it was just dumb umpiring again - even if he was short, it should count as a run since they ran two. Jesus.

But Sunny didn't even run half the pitch before deciding to do a U-turn!

How it was two...?? That was Athar's uncoordinated eye and mouth saying that... Sunny only went to the other end once and didn't cross/drop his bat and came back to his end like a headless chicken ......
but Nasir went to other end and came back to his crease completing two runs alone... so virtually there was no runs scored....

During his 1st series he had that family fiasco and he not able to play in one game, and then now this.... Sunny-er moddhe kichuta bolod bolod bhab ache.

Sunny's still worse. A gollie is not expected to prevent a penalty shoot. He basically came back from being +1 to 0. Sunny on the other hand might have lost a series by not doing something that he is very much expected to do.

LAW 18.3 - Short runs (a) A run is short if a batsman fails to make
good his ground in turning for a further run. (b) Although a short run shortens the
succeeding one, the latter if completed
shall not be regarded as short. http://www.lords.org/laws-and-spirit...uns,44,AR.html

It was a run, clearly. Gosh.
Please check the video....he has returned from half way....this isn't called a short run...the word short run has a different meaning....if that's unintentionally short....the guy didn't cross half the crease so he never gets the benefit of short run... it's not even one run....and you are making two out of it...
It wasn't funny when it happened. It was very tense.[/QUOTE]
There are more things happened before. Someone wrote a book about those
funny incidents in cricket.
One thing I remember from that book (I forgot the name and time), once in a Test match, Umpire was so involved, that after a catch he shouted "How's that" and the bowler raised his finger.
Now from Bangladesh cricket history, Once Abahani's Babu (fans used to call him Kalicharran Babu) was selected for the national team to play against MCC (probably).
He was a left handed batsman, but he was so nervous that in the crease he was getting ready to bat like a right handed batsman. The batsman in the other end had to remind him.
I am not angry at Sunny. I appreciate his emotion, it happened because of his deep love for the team. It can happen to anybody?

if there is no iodine problem, people can act crazy in deep love... But not dumb....but people can act dumb at very early stage of love, infact most people act dumb at early stages of love....
This is actually called Acute iodine deficiency Syndrome (AIDS?) ... And if you fall in deep love in that condition, you are supposed to do, what Sunny did.....

Ditto.
His inexperience and part of making "history" made it worse. If experienced players like Bashar and Inzamam can have bran farts even with lengthy experience, Sunny's one should just give all a good chuckle, and that's about it.

lol yeah. Nasir should've yelled at Sunny to go back. But I don't think he realized what was happening. I think he thought we had to score 2 runs, and thought WI was screaming for the ball because we were one run short? That could be the only possible explanation.
LOL funny how the WI fielders at the strike end was screaming for the ball. GIVE DE BALL BHAI! THROW IT, THROW IT TO DE BOLA END MAAN!
