BPL will have tough time taking over IPL, but it can trash all the other Prem Leagues IMO. This is where our craving for cricket will show.

Not being biased, but if I had to buy or sponsor a team, I'd do it in Bangladesh, not SA or WI.

I think people will get confused

Rather i want to use the traditional one, that is, CTG, SYL, BSL, RAJ, KHL. Its more convenient and easy to catch

ঢাকা: বাংলাদেশ প্রিমিয়ার লিগ (বিপিএল)’র বিদেশি খেলোয়াড়দের নিরাপত্তার দেওয়ার বিনিময়ে ক্রিকেট বোর্ড (বিসিবি)’র কাছে বিশাল অর্থ দাবি করেছে ঢাকা মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশ।

নিরাপত্তা খাতের জন্য পাঁচ কোটি টাকা চেয়ে বিসিবিকে চিঠি দিয়েছে ঢাকা মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশ বিভাগ। বিসিবি পরিচালক ও বিপিএল গভর্নিং কাউন্সিলের চেয়ারম্যান গাজী আশরাফ হোসেন লিপু এর সত্যতা স্বীকারও করেছেন।

জনগণ এবং দেশ বিদেশের অতিথিদের নিরাপত্তা দেওয়াই আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনীর কাজ। সরকার থেকে এজন্য তাদেরকে বেতন ভাতাও দেওয়া হয়। তারপরেও বিপিএলে বিদেশি ক্রিকেটারদের নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করার জন্য পাঁচ কোটি টাকা চেয়ে চিঠি দেওয়ার কারণ সম্পর্কে জানতে চাওয়া হলে লিপু বলেন,‘পুলিশ বিভাগ চিঠিতে লিখেছে যে সব হোটেলে ক্রিকেটার এবং বিদেশি অতিথিরা থাকবেন সেখানে পুলিশ বাহিনীর যাতায়াত খরচসহ আনুসঙ্গীক বিষয়ের ব্যয় দেখিয়ে এই টাকা চেয়েছে।’

এছাড়া নারী ক্রিকেট বিশ্বকাপের বাছাই প্রতিযোগিতা এবং ওয়েস্ট ইন্ডিজের বিপক্ষে বাংলাদেশ দলের হোম সিরিজে নিরাপত্তার জন্য এক কোটি টাকা চেয়েছে মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশ।

But majority of the people in Dhaka are from all these other places. Why not support your ancestral divisions? After all only the kuttis and others from Gabtoli/Savar are pure Dhakaiyas.
