Shakib is a class player but really could do without these bursts of foolish behavior

A lot of attitude from Shak. From this last ball episode to the banana peel. Hopefully he backs it up against the big boys.

From CI:
Pudota: "That's childish from Shakib. As a professional cricketer, he has to show that he is above such simple things as refusing to take winning run to hit a six next ball. He could have been out trying to do that."
and I agree...
on top of that as many pointed out, its disrespecting the opponent, just like we used to do in goli cricket.... 'winning run, ball haray chharbo... or ball fatay chharbo... or drain e falay chharbo...'

From CI:
Rohit : "Give him [Shakib] a break. Its just a warm-up game. What use is it if you don't actually flex your muscles a bit. Its called warm-up for a reason, I believe."

exactly with so many balls and wickets left, he just refused 1 single. it wasn't like he wasted an entire over trying to slog. let him play the way he wants.

If Anamul was around and hadn't gotten runout foolishly, maybe we would have still finished the game in the 16th over.
Who knows, Run Rate might be important. As someone else said, Shakib's batting will come under even more scrutiny in the next round.
In any case, the high SR and the not outs will do a lot of good to Shakib's T20I batting average :p

Lol what's next? Playing out a maiden over intentionally just to show respect towards the opponent? I am proud of what Shakib did. Ending with a 6 second time in a row was very important for a morale boost which we badly need.

If our players are not confident of hitting sixes against Nepal then we should stop playing.
Again we're looking way too much in to, not a big deal. This is just a game in the end. People really need to stop being so sensitive about this "showing respect"
I wouldn't have cared if India or Pakistan did it to us

Exactly. A little attitude never hurt anyone. We have all these Riyad type sissies amongst us boo-hooing when Afghan players show a bit of bravado and criticizing Shak for tonking a 6. Sissy fans need to trade their thongs for some boxer briefs.

but he didn't got out. that shows how much self-confidence he has. dude he just refused only one single. and we all know shakib is little arrogant but he backs up that arrogance. we have lot of gentle players i.e rahim, mominul, riyad etc...someone needs to be badass
