Im really not frustrated. Not at all. Im surprised myself considering I spent alot of my time the last few months on BD cricket. But Im happy for all theyve done till now and the mere fact that I saw their potential is more than I could have expected from this tour. Watching Tamim or Ashraful bat, I - for the first time - can say that Bangladesh will be a force to reckon with in 5-6 years time. And thats way more than enough for me. Ive always said that Bangladesh will be a world beater in the close future, but to be completely honest with myself, I have NEVER believed it......until this last month. And the fact that it came against a team like Ireland is even better. This is gonna help their cricket grow. Its going to generate some interest in the sport for a country that plays almost everything else under the sun. They tried hard, and they did it! People who say that they dont have the talent and did it through sheer hard work are kidding themselves. They DO have talent, and a whole lot of it at that. At the start of this tournament, they were absolutely outplayed by Zimbabwe, only coming off with a tie at the last moment because of Zimbabwe's inexperience. After just 1 month (and less than ten matches), I wouldnt be surprised if they beat Zimbabwe. Theyve improved THAT much, in THIS little time...

I don't know if this counts as double post, but I posted this in the "just one game.. " thread. Then I saw this thread and the post really belongs here.. since its the venting kind.
Just one game??? Yeah, that one game was against a "amateur" team – Ireland. Our team is made of professional players. That’s what they do for a living, they play cricket! This is not a recreational game to them like it is for the Irish boys! And they didn’t even put up a fight!! It is a game, of course someone has to win, but just don’t surrender! Istn’t there a saying – bina juddhe nahi dibo suchagro medini? Show me the fight in that game, and I’ll shut up.

I'm not as upset as I would have been if we lost to ireland on some other day. I'm just shocked at the debacle I was forced to watch instead of a game. It was a one-sided match, just as everyone (other than Ponting) expected, only that the dominating team was different.
horrible disgusting fielding, but i would have been more upset if we had lost to india, for some reason...
After that match, I said that I was completely satisfied and it would have been a bonus if we made it to the Super8s. So after beating SA, I was unimaginably overjoyed (and convinced myself not to expect anything at all for the next few months..Lol, I reasoned that BD has used up all our luck for the WC).
So well, I would have been more upset...but I'm convinced we'll do better next time. The team is young, and more adaptable to change and of course, more likely to bounce back.
(even so, please inject tamim with some neutraliser for his increased levels of testosterene)
