Iceman is very good at changing gears, he is so good nudging the ball around with ease at the same time he can hit ball anywhere with full flash. He today just proved that by taking singles and doubles you can keep high strike rate intact. I also see Mushy is good too taking singles and doubles like Shakib. Others need to learn the lesson from them !!

ya,really, the rest shld see the way Sakib rotates the strike, takes singles,& without going for too many 4s & 6 s like Tamim he still manages a 80+ SR.

Thank you! I just watched the 1st 6 wickets on ESPN3. AR is becoming unstoppable. He is reminding me of (left-handed) Kumble. (I mean it as a compliment. I know some of you don't like Kumble. But, he was a great attacker of stamps. Could not turn the ball at all, though.)

I thought Kumble was an accurate medium pacer.
But seriously, he seems to have come back with a vengeance after his modified action. He is indispensable for limited over games now, and am hoping he can also refine his defensive deliveries for the long form of the game.

yes, he was struggling quite badly before the England series at home. Of course it doesn't help that he bowled to Indian and Lankan batsman on flat wickets at Mirpur in the tri series prior to series. but still, i was afraid we'd lost him for good. if you recall at that time, it was his head that the BC axe was set up for.
great to see him bounce back with a vengeance as you've mentioned. Home ENG series he did decently (for his old standards), don't remember specifics, but i do know that since then he hasn't had a bad series, and maybe only the odd poor match here or there.

For test success, one needs to be a wicket taker. You need to attack the stamps with vengeance for that. AR now does that well, in addition to restricting runs. He and Shakib are the world's premier left-arm spinners.

Was reluctant to open a thread for this,
Who gets to pick the powerplay first? I mean, after the mandatory 10 overs, if we pick the batting powerplay straight away[11-15] then the bowling powerplay needs to be taken at a later stage. Is it possible, or does the bowling team get to pick the powerplay first?
If batting team gets to pick the powerplay, I think we should indefinitely take it in the 11-15 overs, unless we are 30-3 after 10.

Theres always a risk of losing 2-3 wickets during the powerplay. And the batsman who follow tamim and kayes are slow as tortoise. You sure dont want to leave the powerplay on their hands and make a mess of it given how BD in general poorly manages powerplay to begin with.
Powerplay should always be taken according to the condition of the game and by that solely.

A few tidbits: - If AR held on to that simple caught-and-bowled, he would have 5.
- There were two other dropped catches, one caught-and-bowled by Shakib and the other by Shuvo (similar to one that Utseya caught of Junaid).
- I think that the team exhaled a bit after ZIM lost 6. If they scored only, say, 150, the pressure would not have been let up.
- Junaid needs to curb areal shots for a while. He almost always falls to these spectacular catches.
