I really don' think Imrul is a Test material, the guy lacks patience and has an average which would put even ashraful to shame. He's our best odi batsman but don't know how he is still finding a place in the test side.
Prediction
Bat first bangladesh will score 580 ( Tamim 400, Imrul 00, Mushfiq 80) the rest of the players will make the remaining runs
Zim all out for 200 and 250

Imrul lacks patience? No way mate
I will be happy if we could post a total of 400+ in the 1st innings.

I wish him all the best of luck to regain some form and consistency but that does not mean I dont wish other batsmen well.
At the end of the day, a win is that matters and I hope Ash can contribute positively to that win.

Never knew that we actually played a practice game and it is actually quite shocking that we lost to a second string Zim side. This is a horrible start. Now i have doubts that we can post a 400+ total. Imrul again scored 8 and a 0, my my why am i not surprised there.
@Kalpurush bhai - I have stats to back up my statement. Imrul has played 13 Test matches, 26 innings, scored only one 50 (fluke) with a poor average of 17.42. Disgraceful for a Test batsman compare this to Shariar Nafees after 16 Test and 32 innings, scored 4 fifties and 1 hundred with an ok average 26.09 (for Bangladeshi standard). Not to forget Nafees scored that against Australia when they were invincible.
With that being said, Imrul is a good odi batsman but just for his odi merits you can't select him. For example Australia's Michael Bevan was an odi specialist didn't fare that well in Test, it's a different ball game and selector's needs to understand or else we have another Ashraful in the making. 12 Test is more than enough opportunities.
Also, I have seen the West indies series where he batted quite poorly.

see the prob is not with imrul..its with Tamim..because of tamim we had a very good opening partnership in tests last year...there was a stats article in cricinfo which showed tamim and imrul were 7th best opening partnership of the year with an avg of 43+ i think...all of this is because of tamim..he has been in so good form before u know we have tamim in 40 and imrul in 4 and the opening stand at 50 in no time...so selectors dont want to brake up this combination...we had pretty decent opening stand so no need to change it...if it aint broken dont fix it...but i do agree that imrul as a player dont cut it in test..he has poor technique and bowlers will figure him out easily

Heres the real prediction - BD First innings 71 all out, Taylor will look at the total and decides to enforce a follow on even before we bat coz the total will be too low.
BD Second innings 111 then we wil score 186-2 and win LOL

Lets face it, we love playing Zimbabwe... they are our moral boosters, the ideal punching bag before taking on bigger oppositions later in the season. In a way our results with them also represents how much we have improved as a side. Before august 2006 we hardly won against a zimbabwe side possessing Grant Flower, Heath Streak and co. But since august 2006 we played 29 ODIS and managed to win 23 of them... Our dominance over them is to the point of bullying right now!
So lets hope Razzak gets bucket load of wickets including hat-tricks... Tamim and Shakib climb in ICC rankings and our own bradman against zimbo, the legendary Shahriar Nafees scores 400+ runs before the series is over
long live zimbabwe

So funny post!
You right according my opinion. 71 runs will come from our debutant Nasir Hossain at his first innings and Tamim Iqbal will score 111 at his second innings.
Ha! Haa!! Haaa!!! Haa.........!!........

Well, if you're older than twelve, you should know Bangladesh has had a few tremendously atrocious defeat. I mean we lost within 7 sessions once (against Srilanka, I think) and that's because the Srilankans wanted some Batting practice. Some of there Batsmen even retired to let others take a shot at a free century, our Bowling was that toothless.
I realize recent Zim-Bang relation make us look bad-a$$ to you people, But trust me we sucked so much in the past, our most embarrassing defeat just can't come from you guys.
