One thing is for sure, we suck at belters. You give make the wicket flat the slighest, and suddenly our boys have 'himshim' when it comes to scoring big. In international cricket and tournament where pitches will be very similar to this condition, your dumb Siddonesque 240-Mirpur s** ain't gon cut it. You regularly need to score 320-350 if not more to stamp your dominance.
Thank GOD that Shamim Chowdhury is out of commentary. His little mantra of "You just hit a six, why would you hit another six again?" did YEARS and years of irreparable damage to our psyche. Athar Ali Khan used to be like that but he still has that dumb cultural mentality of "You just hit a boundary on the first ball, why would you hit that again?" Of course, he says it when a wicket falls, but should another boundary result he would be praising it. Yeah keep having that dumb cultural mentality that scoring consecutive boundaries is some kind of taboo... you will go far in this sport. Heh.
Only in our dumb culture we somehow conflate and associate hitting big shots with arrogance and laziness and wax dumb paeans on RBW (running between the wickets). As if one must clench their anus and grit their teeth... or else the players' commitment is in question since they are lazy.
FFS. It's cricket man. What kind of mentality is that? That hard hitting is some kind of sin and taboo.
Also, Siddons probably is the WORST batting coach ever. All of your sound techniques and solid textbook batting shots of matikamrano straight drives down long on or coverdrive ain't gon win you matches. You know what does though? Destructive mentality, tenacity and aggressive mindset in international arena. We are not talking Domestic Leagues and Bangladesh A team games year where 'cutesy' shots win you matches defending low totals.
This is why I HATE watching our batters play. Unlike India and England, we don't know how to play fearless, destructive cricket. Let alone entertain.
You HAVE to give the players the freedom to play their shots instead of criticizing every damn delivery with microanalysis. By 'you' I mean the think tank and management.
I bet, very few of you know that Tamim was given that carte blanche in his World Cup debut. I think he asked his uncle or think tank that "Oh I didn't do well, I may be dropped" in 2007 and then some guy said: "Don't worry. You will play all the matches no matter what. You are in." - or something like that.
When you have THAT kind of backing and foundation and freedom, it's no secret you will have the CONFIDENCE to get away with murder and play your own innings regardless. Duh.

I am glad it has happened as BD is getting a reality check. Everyone in BD has this attitude these days that they are from a 1st world country. People spend money and show off, when in reality, they are from a 3rd world country.
This nobabi of eating in restaurants everyday, having sehri and iftar in restaurants, having dawats in restaurants was over the top.
Someone even tried telling me that the standard of office work in BD is superior than in England! Effin idiots.
This Zim tour will leave the players scarred. This will reflect in our performance in Asia cup. It seems Zimbos are no longer punching bags we can use to get our players back to a winning mindset. BCB will need to find a new punching bag!
Ebadot is probably the most good looking player in Bangladesh if not the world. And trust me in California I have seen many good looking blokes...haha..
When Bangladesh would use to lose to lesser strength teams we would say they lost to second string team. But this is our second string team with no Shakib and Nasir.

This is majority of Bengali fans (Shartaz) we will start to argue that this was our F team, not even B team.

In the ODI series, Zimbabwe were without their regular captain Craig Ervine, and key players like Sean Williams, Blessing Muzarabani, and Tendai Chatara. They even benched Ryan Burl for last two ODIs and Regis Chakabva for the last ODI, despite the team already being so depleted. They were missing more players from their best possible XI than we did. Who knows what would have happened if Burl (MOM of the last T20I) and Chakabva (centurion of the 2nd ODI) played the last ODI.
