Why can't cricket just be played as normal regardless of rain like any other sport?

Looks like Gayel has done some voodoo to stop Bangladesh to win this test.

Trixta, soggy outfields and muddy pitches are no good for cricket. Plus, you don't have to grip the ball in soccer.

the rain is like blessing in disguise for the windies. unlucky us.. why doesn't it come when we need it!!! like during T20 BD v IRE few weeks back :P
