I really think Masri needs to bowl at his full pace most of the time. If he consistently drops his pace then he may become like Irfan Pathan. He should try to bowl at full pace with shorter spells in order to pick up wickets.

Pradeep J Sugathadasa sends us this. It will be interesting to get the Bangaldeshi angle on it. If any of you are watching, do respond. Pradeep writes, "Just over a year ago, as a Sri Lankan expatriate living in Dhaka, I was watching a series of U19 matches between England, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in Dhaka's BKSP facility. Even though Sri Lanka lost to Bangladesh U19 in the finals, it was a closely contested tournament.
Interestingly, none of the Sri Lanka U19 members featured in that tournament are yet to be exposed even to the A Team squad, let alone the national team. In contrast, not one but three of the players who took part in the Bangladesh U19 team are featured in the on going SL vs BD series. That is Mushfiqur Rahim, Meherab Hossain Jr who are playing in 2nd Test, whilst Shakib Al Hasan played in 1st Test.
Considering the weak domestic Cricket structure prevail in Bangladesh where more attention is given for One Day cricket, there was insufficient time for these
talented youngsters to gain necessary experience for realities of Test cricket. Yet they are prematurely pushed in large numbers for an away Test series! Among other, this also illustrates the depth of Cricket in Bangladesh. Continuous failure at Test level should not be surprising."
Any angles?

I was watching the BD-SA game from the wc. The commentators were saying the same thing. He should be over 82+ consistantly, especially in tests.

What he said is true. Who can deny this? We're following a silly Paki model of throwing kids into the fire without considering a structured approach. Remember the lost generation of Al Shahriyar Rokon and Hannan Sarkar? It was almost the same thing. Except that these kids have better grounding.
Next ball edges ... down the ground between slips and wk for four

That was a great delivery from Mash. MJ's lucky to be here.

Mashrafe Mortaza to DPMD Jayawardene, FOUR, Edge but no luck for Mortaza. Length-delivery landed around the off stump line, shaped away a touch, Mahela stabs at it, bat away from his body, gets a edge and it flies between the keeper and first slip. The first slip was standing wide and there was a big gap between him and the 'keeper. And Mahela survives due to that mistake.

Shahadat should really un-nerve Mahela with bouncers and yorkers, and ofcourse, more grunts. Get under his skin.
