I am OK if Ash gets a few opportunities in this series, but he if he fails he should not be in the world cup squad.

thats an unfair message to Ash based on one game. What if he arrives during powerplay and gets out swinging which may be the right strategy for that moment?

or worse, what if he does a 60 SR century? Will that guarantee a spot for all of 2011?

Every player should be sent out there with instructions based on the match situation and then be evaluated on their approach as well as the bottom line result.

we are trying to fit a cylindrical peg into a square hole...it might just work this series because of the strength of the bowling attack and the fact that ash always comes good with his back to the wall (WC spot is his to either lose or gain).

but we need several seasons of 50+ average in NCL batting at #4 to believe that Ash can do it at int'l level. he should have come in as the rookie batting at #6-8, and earned his way to a top order spot. now we have no sloggers. lets just hope ash bats long enough for us to take the PP while he's still at the crease.

With all the reviews we have seen the coaches have put their best effort and worked on every area that needs attention. Deserve to win this with no competition not just because it's zim, but because our boys have worked hard. Heading to the worldcup with2 clean sweeps would be great

Agreed. Ash should not bat anywhere in the top 5. I just don't understand why the team management is so reluctant to have Mushy at #4. He's temperamentally more solid then Ash so he should ideally bat in the top 4. He should actually bat after Riyad since he takes time before he can start playing his shots. The problem is though I don't know how Ash will play even down the order. He was pretty bad against England when he was down the order and had a really poor SR. We have to take in account that Ash has completely lost it and isn't a slam bam batsman anymore. I remember he was actually going for it but still didn't time his shots well. The problem is the other alternative is Naeem who has become slow as well. We desperately need to find some player that can hit down the order before WC comes up

I have no much hope in Ash scoring any runs...even though his back is against the wall. Ash will remain an eternal 'mentally-challenged' Ashdafool. The ball he got out to against the Afghans he almost played two shots in one delivery. First, he thought about an inside-out lofted shot over cover (which would have been the right choice of shot) but at the last nano-second changed his mind and went for his customary over-smart very late cut/dub/poke and found himself castled- not for the first time in his life!

Hope for his and team's sake he makes me eat my words. But, I'm not holding my breath.

One of Tamim, Imrul, Mushfiq, Zunaid and Shakib has to score a BIG ton to give us a defendable score. 240 might be defendable against Zim but not against better sides. We need to aim for 270 at Mirpur if batting first.

Also for Riyad to show his BATTING and Bowling capabilities.
