Looking at some of the response, I feel like some of us expected Bangladesh to win all games and win the world cup. This team is still a work in progress and we have to support the team through this bumpy ride. I am sure they will take some lessons from it and hopefully if our fielding is up to the mark, we will see a better side against India on the 19th.
I havent seen anyone mentioning and some of us did mention this before:
The reason Pakistan did better against Bangladesh is because they know about the wicket way too well than any other teams. Their primary players ( Misbah, Shoaib, Razzaq etc.) all have played in Mirpur recently and very well know our player's weaknesses. Julfiqar Khan has been in great form in their domestic circuit. We could have done better than what we did but unless we can take wickets against these major teams,,, restricting them with spin is not going to work. We have to take wickets to slow down the run scoring by the other teams.
It was a practice match, so it didnt matter that we win or lose. Pakistan played with much more intensity than we did. Our batting was exposed against the pace bowlers and that's what I expected... pace will win or lose the matches, not spin againts teams like India, Srilanka, Pakistan who are very good against spin.
What bothered me was none from the mid/lower order clicked. Mushfique was a flop at 4 and Naeem showed why he is NOT to be included against major teams. After Tamim was out for a duck, we didnt ( or couldnt) show any firepower the way Pakistanis did with their batting.
If team management thinks that our opposition 240 restricing, Naeem/Raqibul playing, No risk Powerplay before 45 playing mindset.. will win us matches against India, SA, England,,, we are in for respectful losses... but I doubt that the players will let that happen, Shakib wont let it happen!!
Main Positive: Top order still clicked after Tamim got out for a golden duck
Main Negative: Middle Order failed miserably. I'm getting a little tired of Shakibs inconsistency with the bat. He needs to come in lower. Ash's spot needs to be taken up by either Rakib or Nafees, and pushed up the order to #4.
Other than that. Round about what I was expecting. Bowling could have been better, but we can't expect to constrict the opponent to under 250 every game. The batsmen, specifically the middle order, need to step up...
The real trouble was when the BCB announced that 5,000 tickets are still left unsold on the eve of the match, which meant a large number of people stood in the queue to buy tickets, depriving the voucher-holders of their right.
"I will have to take a look at what happened but it is very unfortunate," Tamim said. It must have been confusing for some to see a few empty stands at the Shere Bangla National Stadium after a huge demand for tickets across the country. At the start of the Bangladesh innings, well into the evening, the count at the ground was 13,088, (later 14,500), and not a full house of 25,000-plus. It also presents the organisers a big challenge for the other big games in the tournament because vouchers have been sold at banks for those matches too.

Actually fans of BD team has been over excited and over optimistic about their team. That was the first reality check, lets see what next.
All the specialist batsman in this team are having avergae of inbetween 20-30 only with strike rates 60 to maximum 80 in ODIs, only Sakib has an ODI everage of 34.
It is very imppsobile to beat good teams with these types of players.

At the post-match press briefing, Bangladesh coach Jimmy Siddons expressed satisfaction with his team's performance and the players' positive attitude on the field.
Did we follow the same match as Jimmy Siddons?

Well, this was probably a planned failure...you dont know, may be it was an all-out type of game for us...where everyone did what they felt like...! I might be 100% wrong but the possibility does not die...
Anyone who attended like mac and Nasif bhai, can you please tell us about the atmosphere? Were crowd really enthusiastic or 'dead'? We really need our crowd to back up our players and cheer every ball!

*JAMIE* Siddons. And you never know, maybe he got all he wanted out of this match. He already said he wasnt looking to win. I don't get it. I thought people bashed him because he was too negative?
I honestly feel that BD should target Ireland, Netherlands and the West Indies, and hope that Ireland, Neds and WI get beaten by all the other teams, then they have a chance.

LOL and how is he being different here?
He said "We aren't playing to win, just a practice match"(-), you should play to win in EVERY MATCH! So much for "winning habit". And now he says "Satisfaction with his team's performance and the players' positive attitude on the field"(+) = Negative.
Even one day ago, I found people believing it to the highest extent that this BD squad has got everything to even win the WC. Now that we lost to Pak in the warm up match, I find people saying, this squad won't even win against the Associates! No wonder, we have always been such emotional fools! We either tend to day dream, or we just think that we are nothing. We haven't yet got the habit of being realistic and getting the balance right in terms of our thinking and expectations!
Having a good series doesn't necessarily mean that we now have everything to win the WC, or having a bad day also doesn't mean that we can't even make it to the QFs!
I just know that I trust ''Captain Fantastic'' and his unit.
