Yep. 5 dot balls and a six in that over. I really hope this kid isn't a "boundary or nothing" player. Hope he'll milk the bowler around after a big hit and give Nafis some strike too. 9/0 (2)

Damn! Only 1 run from 4th over. But if they keep wkts alive, nothing can happen. 309 is not impossible score to chase.

i've been trying to do some work late but with 2 BD matches on at the same time (must be a first!), that's hard to do.
with nafis gone, chances are really slim. was hoping for a run rate of 5 until the mid point. let's see how deep our batting is. nafis choked when we needed him most, as he is prone to do. can't handle the pressure??

Nazim gone, LBW. Fall of 2nd wicket. 24/2 (5.1). That's it. Our hopes are dashed.

and they don't look too comfortable, do they? that we even think we could have chased 309 against india shows something has changed - i hope these guys still plug away and get 250+ as that will be good momentum to take into the plate round where we will surprisingly meet at least 2 other test nations?

Nazim scored 6 runs from 16 balls, which came from the solitary sixer of the innings. He basically wasted 15 balls, apart from the six. Didn't they teach him just to nudge the ball around and take a single? I wonder if Nafis was getting frustrated due to lack of strike and flurry of dot balls. Just what i was fearing "boundary of nothing" habbit is running amock.

until bd batsmen learn to take singles and rotate the strike, they will never master the one day game
this is how SA is chasing a NZ one day ask rate of over 6:
Recent Overs: . 1 1 . . . | 1 1 1 1 N1 . . | 1 1 1 . 1 2 |

A perfect example, Rafiq bhai. Nafis, however, is a genuine flop under pressure.

Things changed a bit after Aftab arrived. Kid's on fire. 55/2 (8.4) RR = 6.35
Aftab 27(19). Seems like Aftaab is getting his runs from cultured shots. Just hope he keeps his cool and continues to keep his wicket intact. Also important that his partner compliments him and rotates the strike. As rafiq pointed out, they ought to be on their toes on running between the wickets.

8.5 VR Singh to Aftab Ahmed, FOUR, short and wide, cut away over point
8.4 VR Singh to Aftab Ahmed, no run, short, pulled straight to square

misfielded by dhawan
8.2 VR Singh to Aftab Ahmed, FOUR, pitched up, drive to long off

True billah. But things will calm down soon. Specially if we lose a wicket now. Fingers crossed.
