Superb!
Our players should take a leaf out of AB & Faf's book to learn how to salvage a draw!
AB - 33(220) & Faf 110(376)

Deikha onek shanti pailam - a test match of the purest quality. Mashallah.
One thing I have learned - A century is the seductress that tries to crash you on the rocks on your way to a draw. Just watch what happened to Faf on 98 - and Faf commented on it at the end. It is a seductress - be wary.
Oh and Faf was on debut. He never faced this kind of situation in this grandest of arena before. His innings should be required viewing in our Academies.

^why only academy?
The footage should also be shown to our NT players during Test preparation. I wish the guys who didn't go to the Sunderbans, at least saw the match.

Heroic stuff from South Africa! Du Plessis shows just how good of a player he is. Great game of test cricket.

Also gotta give credit to Siddle, He is simply the mongrel of the Aussie bowling. The way he was still bowling even when he was in such pain was a great example of being a winner. And he was bowling even faster when he was simply too fatigued to bowl. This type of attitude is great for test cricket.

You know our Bangladesh batsman should learn from Du Plessis just look how clam and patient he is on his debut.

Our players should watch the 2nd innings of SA batting over and over and over again. Unfortunately, many of our fans think like Nadim. What's the point of playing boring? Why not entertain the crowd? This is the main problem with our fans and also the other subcontinental teams fans. Yesterday I saw Harbhajan hitting a 4 off Panesar and the fans were jumping up and down like they've just won the match. What ended up happening? Harbhajan gets out soon after not doing anything prevent an Indian collapse.
Then the even bigger problem with our players and the other subcontinental teams, primarily India and Pakistan, they look to entertain the crowd more than playing for results. Otherwise why do you see players like Tamim and Shakib being on a roll but then all of a sudden play a T20 shot and then get out? This is where the professionalism lacks in our players and fans compared to places like Australia, South Africa and England. It's time our players stop thinking about entertaining the crowd and focus on results. Drawing matches are far more important than looking pretty and eventually losing

It's almost certainly one of the most thrilling test matches in recent years. Du Plessis batted for 464 minutes and faced 376 balls. He started the day on 12, added 19 in the first session, 63 between lunch and tea as he and Kallis took the attack to Australia and rest is the history now.

I agree with you, our players can play like that in ODIs and T20s but in Tests, it requires a totally different process. Most of our Bangla fans do not really understand what Test Cricket is all about so we can't really blame them as it is quite complicated for the common person on how to go about playing Test Cricket.

You're right Asif bhai unfortunately. Chanderpaul gave them many tips on how to bat in Tests but did they learn? Like I said before, our players are more in to entertaining crows rather than to play boring.
I've heard from many fans also that Chanders is a boring and selfish batsman. How's he selfish? Selfish for batting slowly in a Test match? I think the way our batsmen play is more selfish than how Chanderpaul plays.

de Villiers 33 (220) in 245 mins...
if only one of our batsman could play this innings.... only one... could have said atleast someone tried.... sigh...
but SA is #1 in test for these very reasons so wasnt surprised that they pulled this off.
Congratulations nonetheless, all down to the final test.....

Wow. Unbelievable stuff from SA. They knew there was no way out of this game except just survive and that's exactly what they did. AB's SR was 15. How often do we see that happening. This reminds me of a very similar Test match between SA and Aus. Grame Smith came out to bat with a broken hand to try and save the game. I think there was 4 overs left on the 5th day and Aus needed only 1 wicket. At the end Aus got rid of Smith with 10 balls left.
Faf du Plessis: "I said to myself to 'think of the team's goal', which was to be defensive."
Are you listening to this Tamim/Shakib and the rest of our losers?
