Should Rubel be taken replacing Masraffe?

Masrafe is not performing well. In the other hand we have a very good fast bowler in hand like Rubel.So Masrafe should be rested for a match and Rubel should get a chance.

Rubel has injury & Mash has just come back from injury. Mash deserves a couple more chances if not three. If he can prove himself, then Rubel must come in place of Shafiul. All depend on Mash's performance though.

Let Mash play one more match at least. I mean we can really use in form Mash... he has proven his worth over and over... especially against India... and who are we playing first game of WC again?

Let Mash get some match practice and help him to get his form back. If Ash can get so many opprtunities so can Mash. Besides Rubel has injury

when a player is out of injury, he should always come in after playing some lower level cricket and gaining match fitness. we did not do it with mash and now he is suffering in the main team.

we should replace him with either rubel (there are some rumours if him being unfit) or nazmul.

ঢাকা: সুদূর বিলেত থেকে আনা হয়েছে ইয়ান পন্টকে। উদ্দেশ্য বাংলাদেশের পেস আক্রমণের চেহারা খোল-নলচে পাল্টে ফেলা। দু’মাসেরও বেশি হয় মাশরাফিদের নিয়ে কাজ করছেন। কিন্তু উন্নতির লক্ষ্যণ নেই। যরপরনাই পেসারদের ওপর বিরক্ত ইয়ান।

পেসারদের কড়া সমালোচনাও করেছেন ইয়ান,“প্রত্যেকেই নেটে ফাটিয়ে ফেলেন। কিন্তু খেলায় ধার নেই।”

অবশ্য চোট থেকে ফেরায় মাশরাফি কিছুটা ছাড় পেয়েছেন। কোচের দৃষ্টিতে প্রথম ম্যাচে সুবিধা করতে না পারলেও তুলনামূলক দ্বিতীয় ম্যাচে ভালো বল করেছেন সাবেক অধিনায়ক। আশার কথাও শোনান কোচ,“মাশরাফি বাংলাদেশের সেরা পেসার। আশা করি খুব শিগগিরই সে নিজেকে ফিরে পাবে।”

জিম্বাবুয়ের বিপক্ষে ছন্দ রেখে বোলিং হয়নি। ফলে অনায়াসে খেলছে প্রতিপক্ষ ব্যাটসম্যানরা। ইয়ানের মতে,“পেস বোলিংয়ে ছন্দ এবং সময়ের সমন্বয় গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। এর ব্যতিক্রম হলে আত্মবিশ্বাস হারাবে। নেটে দুই হাজার বার বোলিং করে কেউ বলতে পারে না মূল উইকেট ভালো করবে।”

শুধু পেসারদের নয়, বোলিং কোচ হিসেবে এখন পরিচয় দিতে স্বচ্ছন্দ বোধ করেন ইয়ান। বিশেষ করে স্পিনারদের প্রশংসায় পঞ্চমুখ এই ইংলিশ কোচ,“স্পিনাররা দারুণ করছে। পৃথিবীর কোন দলে এক সঙ্গে তিনজন বাঁহাতি বোলার খেলেনি। যাদের প্রত্যেকেই বিশ্বমানের। স্পিনারদের পারফরমেন্সে আমি খুশি। কারণ আমি বোলিং কোচ।”

বোলিং কোচের ভাষায় সাকিব আল হাসান অনেক বড় মাপের অধিনায়ক। বিশেষ করে বোলিংয়ে পরিবর্তন দেখে খুশি,“ প্রয়োজন মুহূর্তে কী সুন্দর বোলিংয়ে পরিবর্তন আনে সাকিব। সে খুবই মেধাবি একজন অধিনায়ক।”

সাবেক অধিনায়ক মাশরাফিও স্পিনারদের প্রশংসা করেছেন। তবে পেস বিভাগ নিয়ে তার মধ্যেও কিছুটা হতাশা কাজ করছে,“ বোলিংয়ের সুযোগই পাচ্ছি না। মাত্র কয়েক ওভার করে বল করার সুযোহ পেয়েছি। চোট থেকে ফেরায় সবকিছু আগের মতো হচ্ছে না। একটু সময় লাগবে। অনেকগুলো ম্যাচ খেলার দরকার ছিলো। তা সম্ভব হয়নি। এখান থেকেই আমাকে ফিরতে হবে।”

খেলার পরের দিন বলে ঐচ্ছিক অনুশীলন হয়েছে। তবুও চার পেসারকে নিয়ে আলাদা কাজ করেছেন বোলিং কোচ। সাকিব আর হাসান মিরপুর শেরেবাংলা স্টেডিয়ামে এসেছেন জিন্স টি-শার্ট পড়ে। অনুশীলনের প্রশ্নই আসে না। তামিম ইকবাল সেন্ট্রাল উইকেট মজা করে ব্যাটিং প্র্যাকটিস করেন। গ্রাউন্স ম্যানদের বোলিংয়ে চার-ছক্কা হাঁকিয়েছেন। অবশ্য ক্যাচ আউট হলে বোলার এবং ফিল্ডারকে পাঁচশত করে টাকা দেবেন তামিম নিজেই।

এছাড়া আগের ম্যাচের সর্বোচ্চ ৬৫ রান করা রকিবুল হাসান, মুশফিকুর রহিমও অনুশীলন করেছন। প্রধান কোচ জেমি সিডন্স ছিলেন তাদের পাশে।

If Mash does not play well in the 3rd ODI and Rubel is fit, Rubel should play. If the selectors want to give Mash all 5 ODI to get back to form, Rubel can come in place of Shafiul.

I strongly feel so. Right now we are too dependent on Shakib and Razzak to take wickets. What if on a day those to can't deliver their bests? What if on a day Taylor and Taibu find their rhythm against spinners?

Nazmul shouldn't play either. His pace is sloow & even Afghan batsmen found it dudh vaat.

Nazmul is actually a pretty good bowler in home conditions. If he's picked, he should only be picked at home. He's a pretty good death over bowler too.

We always seem to play an extra batsman/all rounder. It's about time the people in the top order pull their pants up so that we can have more bowling options.

I would love to see Rubel given some chances. But Mash wasnt given enough chances yet. He bowled 6 overs at first ODI and 3 at 2nd. 9 Overs of opening bowling is not enough to come to a conclusion. Nor its enough for Mash to try his techniques and fix his problems. He has not been unsuccessful. Agreed. However, this wicket isnt really a pace friendly wicket is it? Also Mash only bowled at opening overs. Who knows? he could have been better at a later point in the game....Plus there hasnt been a huge difference between Shafi and Mash in the last 3 matches........ except 1 wicket which was thrown away.
Although seeing how pace attack isnt crucial here, if i were the coach, i would switch these 3 pacers around to give all 3 of them some match practice.

Also Mash had some pretty good deliveries. If he can produce those more consistently than he can be very effective. Also, if u look at his deliveries.... he is getting the swing, his pace isnt bad, his length is good too..... if he can just release those legside deliveries right outside the off stump........ the batsman has nowhere to go

Mashrafe is a great bowler in BD context. Even with 4 knee operations. However, he lacks match practice. To get in to a rythem he has to play/bowl longer spells. It is just that International matches can not be considered as practice any more. With the way pitches and captain is playing him he should sit out immediately. I would hope he gets his groove on in the domestic tournaments. 2/3 matches there will do him a world of good. So, yes, he needs to sit out and give Rubel his rightful place for now.

I think mashrafee deserves more opportunity, and rubel deserves match practice before the world cup.

Our three pacers need to be rotated so that everybody gets equal opportunity.
