Players by choice draft today
April 10, 2016

Staff Correspondent
The Bangladesh Cricket Board decided to become guarantor for Dhaka Premier League clubs as players’ transfer for its forthcoming edition will take place through controversial ‘players’ by choice’ draft system today.

The ‘players’ by choice’ draft will be held at a city hotel from 11:00 am with BCB vice-president Mahbub Anam acting as the commissioner in the transfer system.

BCB officials said they will introduce player’s contract form to cover all aspects of players payments while clubs representatives decided to pay the bank draft to BCB as part of payment guarantees.

Summary From The Daily Star:
http://www.thedailystar.net/sports/c...-today-1206934

A total of 11 clubs have already confirmed two old players as the new system allows them to retain two players and those selected players will not be included in the lottery.

Retained 2 Players from last season:
Prime Bank Cricket Club: Nurul Hasan Sohan and Shuvagata Hom
Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club: Rony Talukdar and Sanjamul Islam
Abahani: Liton Das and Mosaddek Hossain Saikat
Kalabagan Cricket Academy: Mehedi Hasan Miraz and Mahmudul Hasan
Mohammedan: Naeem Islam and Ariful Haque
Legend of Rupganj: Jahurul Islam and Mosharraf Hossain
Victoria: Nadif Chowdhury and Suhrawardi Shuvo
Brothers Union: Asif Hasan and Iftekhar Rony
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi: Shohag Gazi and Arafat Sunny
Kalabagan KC: Abdur Razzak and Tasamul Haque

New promoted 2 teams:
Cricket Coaching School: Saif Hasan and Mohammad Saifuddin
Magnum (Gazi Group) Cricketers - did not retain any player

The 7 Icon players are :
Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, Imrul Kayes, Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah Riyad and Shabbir Rahman

A+ category players are:
Soumya Sarkar, Mustafizur Rahman, Mominul Haque, Mohammad Mithun, Nasir Hossain and Anamul Haque

Shakib and Mustafizur were included in the list but they are unlikely to be available for the competition because of their ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) commitments as the DPL is set to kick off from April 22. So it would be interesting to see whether any club picks the two prolific players.

Now we will wait for the Foreign Players!!
Only 1 allowed to play in a match for each team.

This will be a very competitive DPL this year as no National Team tour in coming months meaning all the High profile players will take part in this league and will try to impress the selectors and Coach HS! Game on!

I was looking at the squad list and couldn't see the name of one of the greatest domestic bully, Naeem Islam. I can't believe he wasn't picked by a team.
