Default Afridi to retire from test cricket

Cricinfo source: http://www.cricinfo.com/pakistan-v-a...ry/467580.html

Imagine how the pak batting lineup will look like now...

Best thing to have happened for Pak (in Test cricket ) .I am surprised that it happened this soon .I expected Afridi to pull down Pak cricket further before he retired .You cant have a captain who cant keep his place in the playing X1 ..he neither can bat nor bowl in Test cricket .

If Pak needs to come back , they have got to get back Yonius , else the spiral down will continue .

Will take his words back before the start of the next Test. U-turn is the synonym of Pakistan cricket.

Where Pakistan cricket is heading?

The present PAK test batting lineup is a joke. It must be very frustrating for the PAK fans to swallow defeats just because of inexperienced batsman wheres they have experienced world class batsmen just ignored due to politics or personal clash.

or md yousuf will. or younis khan.

pakistan may have shortages of many things but a shortage of test captains willing to unretire is not one of them.

As a cricket fan,

I miss those glorious days of Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis Aamir Sohail, Saeed Anwar, Inzamam, moin khan domination Pakistan days. If i remember correctly apart from the loss to Bangladesh and Australlia in world cup 1999, Pakistan was the most feared, the most respected team around that time. I mean it was awesome to watch...

too bad those days are now in the history books, now pakistan cricket goes through a cycle of sins(drugs and other kind of crap!) -> Tabligh jamaat -> politics -> sins....

(nothing wrong with repenting for sins btw, or tabligh jamaat for that matter, just remember to keep it professional!)

try to keep everything in order is the key!

Salman Butt made captain for the rest of the tour. What a battering awaits them at Leeds.

a horrific time for someone SENIOR like Afridi to retire. when they are lacking experienced batsmen!

talk about irresponsibility!

IMHO, Afridi should have at least waited until people like Umar Akmal and a couple of other batsmen get settled and fortifies their batting lineup.

then he could retire.

if he cited family reasons for his retirement from cricket, i would have accepted that!
these paki (attention seeking) dramas are pure BS!!!

Guys dont be surprised if umar amin and azhar ali become the next stars for pak. Not too sure about azhar ali as he is alredy 26 but umar amin looks good.
Anyways i think selecting salman butt was a mistake. The best choice should have been shoaib malik, but he couldn't in the side so what can you do...Although me may replace afridi for 2nd test.
