Togo or To Go: D-Day for France
France to face moment of truth today.
Without Zidane.
Togo or To Go.
Meanwhile, France midfielder Claude Makelele insists team-mate Zinedine Zidane was doing all he could to ensure a glorious career does not end on the bench tonight against Togo in a World Cup Group G match. Makelele insisted Zidane was playing a motivational role in the team's Aerzen base.
"Zidane knows the difficulty of the game we face tomorrow but he has been helping the team," said the Chelsea midfielder. "He has been talking to certain players to get them in the right spirit for the game."
Go France!!

the goal difference must be 2+ to be certain. If the other game ends up with a 0-0 tie then 3-2 victory will be enough. if the other game ends up 1-1 tie then 4-3 will be ok. If the other game has a winner, then a normal 1-0 victory will be fine for France to qualify.

I hope Togo will manage to draw. I hated France since '98, they had their lesson in '02 but it's not enough.

France has passed the first round, and in 2010 they might pass the round of 16.
This France team has all the players from 1998 thinking that the world champs from 1998 will be champions again. How come France never produced any players who are more fit or better than 1998 rooster?? amazing.

France should have been won by a huge margin considering the amount of chances they produced in the second half. They missed some easy chances. Hoping for another Zidane show. GO Zidane GO!

they did indeed play much much better in the second half. perhaps it was simply because zidane wasn't slowing them down :P

Lets see now, how many of the yesterdays first XI were there in 1998??
1)Henry
2)Makalele (wasnt first choice)
3)Thuram
4)Barthez
shows you are wrong about them "having players from 1998"

mate.. socceroos are underdogs in this world cup.. they were never expected to win the cup or even come close to it.. even making it to the second round was an achievment itself.. proud of the boys..
but guess the same cant be said bout France...
world champion 98
biggest looser 02
my main n favourite team is still there.. BRAZIL... cant see any other team making it to the finals than them and Argentines...
looking forward to a classical final...
