Default NCL Centuries

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but this year we've seen a flurry of centuries at the NCL. What do you think was the reason ?

- Improving technique and staying power from the batsmen ?
- Flat batting tracks ?
- Poor bowling attacks ?

I personally don't rate the bowling attack very highly, especially noting that bowlers like Anwar Hossain Monir, Talha Jubair and Mohammed Shahzada are towards the top of the bowling table, yet they weren't good enough to bowl out a Duleep side ..

i hate to say this without watching a single game, but i think it's the last two options. you're absolutely right about your analysis on the Shahzadas, montus and jhontus.

Well, a Duleep side is a lot better than a NCL side! There shouldn't be any debate about that so some of the better performers in the NCL will play against a Duleep side and struggle. However, Monir and Talha didn't do too badly, they shared 11 wickets between them.

To be quite honest, I don't know what to make of the Duleep tour. Almost nothing went right for us. Whether it was due to the lack of preparation, complacency, poor team selection, some injuries or a combination of them all, it was just a disastrous tour. We played well below par!

However, I am heartened by some of the bowling performances in the NCL this year by the seamers, especially because the batting has been so dominant. Usually, spinners occupy most of the top bowling spots after every domestic season in BD but the quick bowlers have all done pretty well this time. Out of the national team guys/hopefuls, Mashrafe, Tapash, Talha have all taken wickets quite regularly and have strike rates around or under 50, which is good!
