Default Match thread: Bangladesh v. Sri-Lanka First ODI 1 of 3| Joy Bangla Cup 2017| at Dambulla March 25, 2017 (15:00 local)

LIVESTREAM VIDEO

Can`t wait to see Sabbir Rahman, possibly the greatest t20 player, ever produced by Bangladesh, hit some fireworks, in ODIs.Will be a joy to watch Souyma and Sabbir dominate the SL Bowlers togethere.

Relive the Hype:

0 Chance of rain will definitely get a full match, expect fizz and mash to come out with guns blazing, two to three wickets will easily set us up for a win.

The question of the day is, Nurul or Liton are any of the two going to be in the playing 11? A single drop catch to Perera or someone else and we could be toast. This is there home field. Plus any of these two can cover more grounds and reach higher. Without slip in place it becomes crucial to stop a nick four.

I will play Nurul. Quality keeping is essential in limited overs. We also need 5 specialist bowlers. Mosaddek is a bad bowler – he is worst than Nasir. Fizz will be our trump card. Sri Lanka last ODI series resulted in a 5-0 thrashing to South Africa, and they lost 4-1 to Australia. They are not really a great ODI side anymore. It is important we win this series because it would give the team hope that they can do well on tours to Ireland and England. I think it will be 2-1 to either side.

4 pacers might be too much esp in SC conditions. Mash/Taskin/Fizz should play. Then get a jodu modu spinner or even Homie.

The the squad that should be played and thats the order. Our strongest possible batting attack and the strongest possible seam attack. No reason why we should lose

I like that too.

But Sanzamul may debut as both Taskin and Rubel were too expensive in the practice match. He may bring the debutant's luck that BD is blessed with (or cursed actually ).

Taskin seems like a promising bowler not using his brain lately, he should learn how to use sense while bowling not just short bouncers and pace.

My fear with mashrafe pace.. recently the way he's bowling, he gotta improve a lot to earn some respect from srilankan batsman... because anything short and wide .. they will launch it...
Mustafiz, sakib , taskin will be the key ... sarkar , tamim , sabbir will be the key for the batting..

Angry Taskin at a glance

For sure, he has lot of potentials. A tall, well-built fast bowler with good pace. Besides, he does seem to have good seam control. However:

- No natural swing let alone late swing and reverse swing
- No useful slower deliveries or yorkers (they are imperative for shorter formats)
- Toooooo Manyyyyyy short deliveries
- Lot of wide deliveries as well
- May contain good line-length for single spell, but he will go back his favorite short balls in no time

I wonder when he will learn or will he ever learn?

Taskin actually has a back of the hand slower ball.he is good at bowling yorkers too. He was flourishing nicely under streak.

Yh but he's regressed a bit since, now his concentration levels are poor and he's stupid, I said he's not a smart bowler from the very start and I got bashed heavily for it...what's concerning is he often wants to bowl short and bang it in

But I do like is, he's trying to change from a strength bowler to strength/rhythm hybrid bowler and that'll help him in the long run in my opinion

Shakib
Mushfiq
Riyad

Bismillah.

Hope we win the first one, sets the series well, puts the opposite side on the backfoot.

My starting XI would be:
Tamim
Soumya
Sabbir
Mushfiqur (wk)
Shakib
Mossadekk
Mahmudullah
Mashrafe (cpt)
Subhasish
Taskin
Mustafiz

Yes, 4 seamers, mash way. The wicket will be flat, Lanka is. No way, will they create turner, BD have Shakib and Fizz who will be lethal on slow turners. Most likely, to be a flat highway track. 4 pacers gives mash more options with pace, plus takes bit stress off him, just back from injury and he might not be able to bowl full 10. Subshi (nick name for Subhasish I made up), is good with the new ball, gives Mash new ball partner. Both, Taskin and Fiz are better with the old ball, especially Mustafiz, Taskin isn't bad with new ball (and has to be good, has to learn to bowl with the new ball better BD need him spear heading the new ball after Mash goes).

Good luck. Will make lots of duas.
